At first I was a little reluctant to participate in this forum because I was thinking it's going to be hard-core engines and mechanic's tools. I know a little, but not really that much. But I have found that this forum is a lot of fun. It's really laid back and cool. I like to see how much everybody participates! keep up the good work, and keep the place fun and lively!

I actually felt the same way at first. I'm by no means an expert or a "Gearhead" so to say. ha-ha I know a little here and there about cars. Most of my knowledge lies in Mobile Audio. I quickly found out everyone here is friendly, the Admin is nice as well. This is a pretty laid back place all in all! :D

I'm probably the farthest thing from being a gearhead. I don't know much at all about cars. I've always been curious, but never acted on that feeling in the past. Looking forward to picking peoples brains, and hopefully learning a few things here and there.

I am a woman, but I do love cars. The look of them I mean, because I know nothing about the mechanics. I can however appreciate a fine machine and can drive like a demon :D I am also interested in antique cars. I love classic American or British cars.

I don't know a whole lot about cars, but my last few jobs have been with dealerships and car insurance companies. So, it really has become a real interest for me. I'm the brother-in-law of the Admin - he is an awesome guy! Pic in my profile is my Avenger with the website decal on it. I love my Dodge Avenger!

Thank you everyone. That makes me feel good. I was worried that the name would push some away. Its hard to get a name that will be inviting to all. I want a place for pretty much everyone. I want the everyone from the casual driver to the "GearHead" to the pro truck driver to all feel like they have a home here.

Its nice to get different views on things. Someone looking to save money and the environment is going to have a different view on certain cars then someone that is in to muscle cars. Even with those different views they can still have the same opinion on something else.

I appreciate everyone being a part of the site and what everyone brings to the table.

    Thank you.

Feel free to add your knowledge of car audio. I miss the system I had. I would like to have another system at some point. When I replace the car I might do something in the replacement. It will be the extra car. Don't want to go crazy in a car the kids are in all the time.

I just resent it. The first one must have been lost in the mail. Damn them.

Being a woman, I grew up admiring the many European cars that used to circulate down my city's streets and dreaming to get my own, but when the time to do it came up, euphoria for European cars had gone and local economy made impossible automotive importations for a time.

I was always looking for a place to share some of those thoughts on cars that I have, and I found that many forums are too technical for my little knowledge.

However when I found GearHead Central, I did not only like the way the forums look like, but I realized that there is a lot of fun and friendly people to whom share opinions.

    I truly like it :)

I felt almost the same first time and was kind of intimidated by all the others that knew here and there about mechanic's and engines. But no, sitting here and talking to all of you guys out here and seeing that you're not as fearful as I thought, I really enjoy this forum very much and would definetely remain here every day till the end!

The forum is quite amazing and I think in the end, I will remain with good a knowledge about cars, engines, mechanics and much more.
    Thank you for existing :D

I've noticed "car guys" are either mega douches or really cool and willing to help you out. I am glad this forum has the cool ones instead of the d-bags that think because you don't know anything about cars then they are better than you. I like to remind them that while I don't know much about cars, I sure can tell if your body is going to fit in the trunk...

That's what I also initially thought, but now that I've been a member here for a few weeks, I learned that the forum is indeed a lively one and it's not too technical. I don't know much about cars, so I was pleased that I can still take part in this forum even if I'm not a car junkie, and at the same time I'm learning a lot in here as well. :)

I felt exactly the same...I like cars but I dont go hardcore and talk about things that dont make any sense to normal people but its actually really fun. Its just for people who like cars and they discuss topics between themselves and not all of the topics are about cars anyway. I love this forum!

I like how laid back everyone is here. The atmosphere is light and anyone can talk cars. None of that "oh you're a ricer" bull crap I hear everywhere else. I'm so sick of that mess.

I could not agree more. In my youth I was into cars and bikes in a huge way and to some degree even now in my advanced age although I can not ride or drive them any longer. I find it very informative here and very nostalgic when I see the bikes and autos of my youth. THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLE' DAYS!

And now this forum has "evolved" into a do it yourself type of forum where you can learn how to clean your car's interior, straight from the pro's. :D You can't find that on other forums, they only offer tips regarding car parts, but not the cleaning the interior part. ;)

I too was a bit hesitant to join this forum for fear that I wouldn't know enough to post. I took the chance and registered and have not regretted doing so. The members are like family here and I can always find something to post about so it's always better not to judge from outside.

I agree, most of us is not a car expert, but gearhead central covers pretty much everything we want to discuss, it's a really friendly place to be.

That's the same reason I love this forum! I feel like at home over here... the atmosphere is so relaxed and cool! I love the fact everyone is so friendly and you can make a lot questions regarding to cars without anyone making you feel bad for not knowing a lot about cars. I have actually learnt a lot things over here :)
