I have wanted a racing seat setup for a gaming system for a long time. There are some amazing ones out there but some are really expensive. Some are not all that bad in price but you get what you pay for. Then there is also the option of building your own. That is the option I want to go with.

I don't have a planned finish date. I have some things to do first.

    My to do list...

    • Buy more wire for my welder
    • Practice welding (my welding skills need improvement)
    • Buy a decent welding helmet (I have a hand held one that came with the welder and that ties up one hand)
    • Design my setup
    • Buy the materials including finding a seat
    • Cut and weld
    • Enjoy
I want to build a seat that has a mount for a small tv (32" range) and 5.1 surround sound system (inexpensive).

Then there are some high end designs that are out there as well. I can't remember those brands but will post those later when I find the.

Some that make a home made one go with a seat out of a junk yard from a car. I would rather a new race seat like the red one. They can be found pretty cheap at times. Not as cheap as a junk yard seat. I will decide on that later. I can also go the junk yard route and change it up later. That could mean welding on new tabs to fit the new seat but at that point it should be much easier with my new found skills. :D

At the end of this project I would like to upgrade to a G27 wheel with a separate shifter.
