I finally made the leap and ordered a dashcam. I went with a budget cam. I ordered a GS8000L model which has decent reviews. The major issue is low quality night video which I'm not happy about but it is at a price I'm willing to pay right now. I can see me buying more down the road to do comparison videos with.

I will post up when I receive it which should be late next week.

Today I picked up Kingston 32 gb micro SD card at Staples on sale. Now I just need my dashcam to show up in working order tomorrow and I'm ready to roll.

The dashcam came in today. Right when Amazon said it would. So far so good. The dashcam is smaller then I was expecting which is a good thing. It is really light, which is good when you are trying to keep it mounted to the window imo but it feels like a $30 product.

The cam came set in a different language which was a pain. After some searching and about 5 attempts I was able to change it to English. I read a review were a guy had the same issue. But at the time of the review he said he couldn't figure it out and didn't think you could change it. You can and it isn't hard to figure out the icons used. It is just figuring out what buttons to press and to get it to work right.

I did a quick drive around the block and it doesn't seem too bad. I think it might work for the price. I already know that I want a action cam to take outside shots of the Jeep off road. I can use this as another angle off road. And at other times I could use it in the wife's car when I have better one for the Jeep.
