I do listen to music while driving. It keeps me from falling asleep during traffic but I'm one of those crazy drivers who play equally crazy loud music.

Yes, I was sensing the risk of such a statement... :D, but I guess I have seen quite a few jumpy women... :)

I don't listen to music on my car very loud, just sometimes if it is a music I/we really enjoy, but not normally.

I listen to music when I drive but I keep the volume low these days. Not like when I was a young kid and always had the volume up. Paying for it now.

What do you mean, paying for it now? Sure, loud music can be a big distraction... :wideeye:

You mean you're suffering from some sort of hearing loss? I think I do too, I used to listen music so loudly when I was younger, I also used earbuds most of the times, which makes it worse, but my hearing is not so bad. Have you consulted an specialist?

LOL, really? Having trouble falling asleep at night? I f yes, then I can totally relate! I almost fell asleep the other day, I hadn't slept well at all for nearly a whole week. It wasn't until last night that I could finally get some well deserved rest.

I always love to listen to music while driving! I think that conversation is more of a distraction to me than music is, even if it's something I like to jam and sing along with! :p

I don't like to talk while I'm driving either!! Specially when some really delicate subjects are covered, that can be really distracting, because you need to think about the answer and what're going to say, etc. So yeah, I think conversations are way more distracting than listening to music. I refrain from practicing both activities while I'm driving tho.

Smart ;) I used to feel like a ditz about it but now I realize it's okay that I get involved in conversation to the point of distraction. Oh well, just means I need to turn up the music! x]

On long journeys I do enjoy talking because it keeps me more awake. If it's just music I tend to get tired more easily, so I prefer engaging a conversation it keeps me alert.

I agree, on a long trip it's actually amazing to have someone to talk to, but I don't really like to talk when I'm driving around the city. I need to be really alert more than ever now, because they introduced a new transport system over here :nailbiting:

Sorry for coming off as ignorant, but what do you mean by a new transport system? o.0

Oh, it's just they introduced a new transport system over here. We basically have no access to some lanes anymore, because of the ''new'' big *ss buses, lol. There is nothing new about this kind of transport, but for some reason they like to think it is (the mayor mostly).

Wow, that sounds super annoying >.> It'd take some extra focus for me to drive in that kind of environment too.

Yeah, it is! To be honest this is such a mess! They really didn't think this through! The city I'm living in wasn't made for this kind of ''transport''. It just isn't lol, but oh well... this thing is not going anywhere! I better get used to it :(

When there are changes on the lanes it can be confusing. This happened here in Lisbon recently and when I think I am going someplace that lane is now closed and I'm forced to go to another place... o_O I did get used to it of course.

I wish it was just a mere change of lanes... now some lantes can be used by that big *ss bus only, lol. They go very fast, so, G-d forbid you cross their path! We're getting used to it, but I really can't relax while drving in the city anymore, at least not in the zones where this bus is transiting. It's not only annoying, but also dangerous! There have been several accidents already thanks to this mess!

@Trellum, I am not sure what buses you are talking about, possibly we don't have them here.

Indeed, I always have music on. It would get real dull, real fast without it. Occasionally, I listen to the news over the radio, but not often.

Yeah, very new over here actually :roflmao: I was actually happy with the old ones, this sudden change wasn't even necessary!

We actually have fairly new buses as well, but they aren't dangerous. I was surprised to see buses in London for example, really old, I don't know why we here in Portugal are permanently changing.
