It looks like a ''new'' drug that has been around for more than one decade (in Russia mainly) is now in America!!! This drug has some really nasty side effects and those who use it have a max of 2 to 3 years to live:

Here is the link to the whole article: http://www.redorbit.com/news/health/1112959865/drug-that-rots-your-flesh-found-in-arizona-092713/

There are more than 3 million people injecting themselves with this junk... this seriously makes me wonder who would do this willingly?! Desperate junkies, I guess.

I really wish these news outlets would stop posting these graphic images all over the place without any warning or any option to avoid them. My news feed on Facebook has been inundated with shots of this over and over again from several different news sites I follow on there. I actually got to the point where I had to complain publicly on their Facebook pages for doing that, and in a few instances I reported the images to Facebook. I really don't want to see stuff like that when I am trying to eat my lunch.

As for the drug itself, if the people using have already lost their will to live and in the throes of an addiction, it's not realistic to expect them to think rationally. Their judgement and emotional state are heavily compromised. My heart goes out to them and I hope they have people in their life willing to help them and try to pull them out of the hell they are in. It's an illness, not a flippant decision. I think we have a tendency to trivialize drug addiction and treat it like it's no big deal, just someone making bad choices over and over again. Especially when we say things like "so and so food item is like crack".

Yeah, you never know who could be seeing that. They should be way more careful with that kind of things.

I think those people have signed a death sentence :( So even if they have people in their life willing to help... there is no chance they will make it on the long run. I feel sorry for them... how low can someone fall? I think I can understand that a bit, like when you hit the bottom... I guess once you reach that point, anything else really matters!

That is messed up. Yes it is cheaper to make but something that kills your "customer" in 2-3 years seems like a bad idea. I'm sure they don't care but it would seem like a few deaths would scare a few people because who knows what your getting. The people that are too far gone are not going to care but damn. They should up the jail time for dealing this drug.

Actually this article had a reaaaally graphic picture... but they removed it, which is bad, because I think if people could see pictures of what this drug can do, then they might think it twice. I mean... the picture was gruesome, and was a real one! I understand why they do tho... I mean... GOSH.........

The pictures are too gruesome to share them anywhere!!!! It looks so painful... I'd rather die than live like that!!! Some people get their bones exposed!!!! JESUS!! Fingers falling off... I wonder how they can go on? I guess injecting more of that crap! I'd say 2 to 3 years is too much time... I bet most of them die after 6 months or one year.

I just recently see this in the local news.

They really ignored this case when it was first reported. I don't really know what is going on with the news here that usually bring reports of something that was already news elsewhere months before.

Is that how gangrene looks like? It looks like more of a burn mark or bruise to me. Anyway, so there are 3 million irrational people buying this drug? That' a hopeless case for them, but they made that choice to use drugs, so I can't feel any sympathy for them.

I don't get why people take drugs. It gives absolutely no benefit and it's bloody expensive. Once you're addicted, it takes a huge amount of determination to get rid of. Now there's this Krokodil thing, some people just like looking for ways to kill themselves.

I was just wondering like you not until I found myself into it but luckily am out of it. Drugs stimulates your thinking to make you feel like you are living on your own created world but then when you come down and discover the impacts you are only left to wonder what exactly you where doing. To the issue of krokodil i haven't yet known the reason why somebody should think of killing herself or himself.

That is so sad.. I just don't understand how people could be voluntarily killing themselves?

I had a case of one of my friends friend who had got into cocaine and it took him nearly ten years to come out of it. Lucky that he came out of it. Many can't even do that. They just pass on to the next life.

If this itself was not difficult now we have this. What on Earth?

They removed the real picture, probably someone complained. I saw the article when they had just published it, with the real picture of a person addicted to that. The bone was exposed :nailbiting::stop: I don't dare to post pictures here, because they are *TOO graphical* to the point it almost made me cry. Like wow... people fingers coming off just like that. Getting all black and hard...

I know, this is WAY worse than any drug out there... is just plain horrible! I mean, if you could just see the real pictures, G-d... people losing limbs or fingers. Or missing skin from a whole leg.... ugh....

@ Trellum, Really? I will have to google that one out, since now I'm curious. How can people become that stupid? But hey, we have to understand that they're not in their right frame of mind anymore, and like what we are discussing via email, it must be "destined" for them to be junkies? We all know that life is not really fair, right?

Looking at the picture, it's further proven that people like to kill themselves. Seriously, I can't fathom people torturing their bodies like that. At least the other drugs gave the addicts some kind of heightened feeling but this Krokodil thing is just plain murder weapon.

I can't buy into the the "destined" theory. Some people just don't care. Some are weak or have a weak moment.

I haven't tried drugs, not because that is someone's set plan for me. It's because I chose not to do it. It's the same reason I don't smoke or drink.

There are people that get into it and find the strength to stop no matter how hard it is.

I see, you got a point there although from what I have learned, life is 50% free will and 50% destined, but yes, we can always choose the right path right? That's where free will comes into play. Some people are just more prone or likely to be addicts as compared to other people. :)

Yeah, I guess they are so despserate to get high! I mean, I have met a lot drug users in the past, and most of them are so desperate... that's why they start selling stuff so they can buy more drugs. But yikes... this is too much. I wonder what that thing feels like when when you are injecting it? I bet it burns like heck!!!! In a way I believe people could be destined to have encounter with drugs, when I was younger I did try some drugs, but I never got into it. Just tried it, wasn't for me. I did drink a lot tho, lol.

Careful not to try these things, you were fortunate that you only tried drugs once. One of my friends was stupid enough to get hooked because he couldn't stand the pressure of college. To earn the cash to "recharge" he started selling for those guys and in the end got nothing but a ruined life.

Oh we're the opposite then I never liked the taste of alcohol.. Yeah, some people are prone to have encounters and are liable to get hooked while some do not.. I don't even know how those cocaine users snort that stuff into their noses! Isn't that powder painful to snort? lol!

Wow really? I no longer drink :) My body can no longer handle it actually, heheh! Not cool, I know. I try not to make a lot drama about it ;) I'm better this way tho :) I never tried cocaine (just weed), but I was so close to try more than once!! I guess it wasn't in my destiny to do so. But I know plenty of people who snorted that, never asked them if it hurted, but now that I think about it... that's a really good question, lol.

I know :( I was lucky, I was actually so close to trying cocaine on several occasions, but never did. Mostly because I remembered those talks my mom had with me as a kid... warning me of how bad and addictive drugs could be. She used to scare me by telling me: ''If you try them once you will be addicted''. Hence never tried hard drugs.
