If you can only have one in your life, which would you choose? Personally, I prefer my four wheels under my butt. Don't get me wrong, I love motorcycles but I just feel more comfortable in four-wheeled machine. How about you guys?

That is a good question. Tough but good.

I'm not sure. I think it would bother me more not knowing that I wouldn't get to ride on 2 again then it would for 4. So I think I would have to pick 2.

If there was another option, I might have to go with 10. Give me a mid 90's Peterbilt 379 and I'm a happy man.

Commuting to work in the winter in February, not fun on two wheels (I am in Ontario and north of Toronto and the commute was about 35 to 40 minutes most days. The four wheels, in my case a Ranger, is practical and yeah I do like my truck. I love riding the bike. I have actually been giving this question serious thought and for next year I am working at getting my head around just having the bike. Over the last eight years or so I have commuted to work every winter but one, drives of 35 to 45 minutes approximately.

I am pretty much finished with driving as I am living in a country that drives on the left hand side of the road rather than the right. I feel that if I saw an accident coming up my reflexes might just take me across the street and that would not be too cool. But if I were about 10 years younger then it would be 2 wheels for sure.

Yeah the different side of the road thing would be a major consideration for me too. Old habits and all that.
When I was in England I thought about that and about adjusting to it. But while I was there I was not behind the wheel. Maybe that was a good thing.

Another strange thing is that here in Thailand the steering wheel and instrumentation is on the WRONG side of the cars! I remember the first time I sat in the passenger side of a car it felt so bizarre!

I would prefer a car over a motorcycle too, because it feels much safe and comfortable plus it's air conditioned and I can also use it as a sleeping room and eating room. :D

I'd probably would choose 4 wheels just to be safe. I do love motorcycles but I'd rather feel safe than sorry.

I also prefer car over motor cycle. I don't want motor cycles for long drive. A car has more safety and facilities for long drives.

I'm just going to echo the masses by saying that 4 wheels trumps 2, in my mind. The comfort and safety of a car is what I'd want if I had to pick one or the other for the rest of my life. Other drivers generally pay more attention and give more courtesy to a car, there's more metal between myself and the road, and I'm just generally better at driving a car. If I was stuck with a motorcycle, I'd take a lot less trips and wouldn't enjoy going out during snowy/icy/downpour months.

Is my truck more practical? Yes. Do I want to take the VTX out on a cold snowy
November night to hit the highway up to Midland? NO. Do I take the truck out just for fun
on a bright and warm Saturday and just drive anywhere? No.
The truck or a car, - I have owned more cars than trucks - is a tool. I like my truck and
I have had some cars that turned me on. But riding the bike. Well someone once said
you don't have to worry about where you are going cause on the bike, you are
already there. Yeah that is just about it.
I like that quote I wish I could claim it but I can't.

As a truck driver I find that some drivers don't show any courtesy to anyone. I have people pulling in front on my truck, leaving me no room to stop if traffic stops in front of them. If I have a heavy load it is going to take that much longer to stop. Now you are safer in a car if one of these drivers were to bump you but riding motorcycles is a great feeling.

4 wheels all the way. I don't greatly enjoy riding a motorbike in the rain and strong wind so I would be quite limited if that is all I had! and I can listen to the radio in the car, talk with my family and friends, take people places, sleep in it if I have to haha.
If I have the urge to ride a two wheeler I will borrow one. Also it wasn't that long ago that I came across a motorcycle crash and saw the awful results, so that is something to think about too.

I would prefer a car instead of a motorcycle. A car can protect you from rain and snow and you will always have air conditioning.

I have to disagree with that end comment. I guess you might not have ever owned
vehicles without air conditioning but I have and yeah I mean four wheel ones. I have also
had vehicles with broken air conditioning so fact is, you will NOT always have air conditioning.
My Mazda RX-7 was without air conditioning. Funny my Ranger truck has it but I honestly don't
    even use it that much.
A lot of people just miss the point re motorcycles. Like the Harley ad said, If I have to Explain it,
you would never understand. But different strokes for different folks.

I would have to vouch for a car out of the two. I really do have a passion for motorcycles, but with a car you have a roof over your head, much more safety and comfort - and if you crash your much more likely to survive. I think riding a motorcycle is more entertaining, but a car is the better choice overall.

I'm just a lot more comfortable with a car. My dad's almost died a lot on a motorcycle, not as much on a car. It's always been a lot more safer for me.

It feels safer on four wheels because you have that guaranteed stability. Call me a pessimist but I can't look at bike without imagining myself sprawled in an arkward position on the road kissing the asphalt. I never could balance right on anything that has only two wheels.
