Has anyone ever had their car repainted completely.....i am considering getting my car painted white, but i am worried that it may not come out the way i want it to, so is it best to leave it untouched or go ahead and try it out?

As long as you go to a reputable paint shop you should have no problem. If you are going with budget bucks I would suggest that you do the sanding and body work yourself.

I think if you go to a professional you will have no problems. They completely mask off the parts that aren't to be sprayed and will do a professional job. They know what they are doing, most of 'em :p

I had one done years ago. That was on my first car. I had a friend do it. It didn't turn out too bad other then the fish eyes on the trunk.

I you want it to look really good you will have to spend the money to get it done right. It isn't cheap. I have seen many cheap paint jobs. Some were not even worth the price. Its sad.

Check around and get some quotes. Then you need to decide if you still want it done after you see the price. If you love the car and want to keep it around then go for it.

I have priced up some before and it was worth it to me but I didn't get the money before changing my mind or replacing the car.

$49? Wow. You couldn't get the paint for that now. It could cost that much just to mask a car now.

I had my Bronco II redone about a dozen years ago, back before I left for college. Had the entire thing resprayed and the striping redone. I just sold it to my neighbor, and after a good wash, it still looks great. If you can find a shop with a good reputation, go for it.

LOL..I know! When I was in high school (1962) it was $29.99! And as long as you did the sanding and prime yourself it came out pretty good.

When I worked at Shelby the joke was that when any of us had even a small run we were accused of going to the Earl Scheib University!

LOL. For that price I'm guessing they are not known for quality.

I had my car painted by a neighbor! It wasn't so expensive, but the results weren't very good. If you're going to get your car painted, then I really recommend you to investigate the person's experience first.

I once got a car completely done from blue to white. The job was perfect, if I didn't mention it no one would know. The important thing is to make sure that the person doing the job can really manage and that means inquiring about his reputation.
