The Cadillac commerical-blowing the doors off!

That was a phrase we always used years back..."my car will blow the doors off a ____________". So I start watching a commercial and I see doors in the gutter, in the street, flying off as the Cadillac drives by. It is now clear to me that the Company is trying a new campaign to target a different demographic. I am not sure of the song..but I think it says "whos a freak, whos a freak".

Do you like this new ad campaign or do you think it detracts from the Cadillac heritage?

 

I think you are right Flexin. I see so many younger drivers in Cadillacs and the lease rates are so affordable. I think these young kids remember Granpa's Caddy as a sign of "making it" and now they can not only afford one, they are sleek and state of the art.

I love the doors blowing off, but the sound track I will never get. I also think American cars are becoming "cool" again with Cadillac going so "rad", Chrysler subtle but clear promotion of the American car industry ("Imported from Detroit") and the big truck commercials using everything from cowboys to muddin'. Advertising is so important and I think the only others that are keeping up are Fiat, with their cute, campy commercials.

 

I love the concept of the ad... I hate the music that goes with it.

 

And I have driven the XTS V-Sport. It is a hell of a car.
