The Sport Touring-ification of Buick’s lineup has spread to the sedans: The brand has announced new versions of the Regal, Verano, and LaCrosse for 2016, which join the previously announced Encore Sport Touring.

If you’re thrilled now, just wait until you hear what Buick has in store for buyers of these new STs, as the brand refers to them. For starters, there’s the turbocharged EcoBoost engine, the stiffer suspension, the six-speed manual—what? Different ST? Oh, right. These ST models will each get a rear spoiler and 18-inch wheels with painted black pockets.

The Regal and LaCrosse are based on their 1SL equipment packages, the Verano its Convenience trim. For the first two, that means leather upholstery, heated front seats, and Intellilink infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Verano gets dual-zone climate control, Intellilink and Wi-Fi sans CarPlay, heated front seats, and an eight-way power driver’s seat.

    -
Only the Verano is denied the top-spec engine choice from its lineup, instead getting the 2.4-liter four-cylinder good for 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. The Regal Sport Touring is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 259 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, the LaCrosse by a 304-hp, 264-lb-ft naturally aspirated V-6.

While these aren’t the exciting sporty models GM has said it wants to bring to Buick, we’ve been told that the future holds Sport Touring versions of every Buick moving forward, and that the next-generation STs will better deliver on their sporting pretensions by offering more substantial tweaks, including more power. (The Encore Sport Touring, for what it’s worth, does pack 15 more horsepower and 29 additional lb-ft of torque.)

And if you’re wondering where the Enclave Sport Touring is, one ain’t coming. You’ll have to make do with the Tusken Tuscan Edition.
