Nice!! I just ordered something from a chinese seller, and I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy about it. They seem so sneaky! Have you had to open a case on Ebay? They offer buyer protection, but I'm not very sure about it! If it was that good... they'd be losing a lot cash, isn't it? So far I think their rating system is somewhat trustworthy, because I believe Ebay penalizes sellers who don't ship the items the client ordered.

Well I would prefer the under the table transactions if my item is $50 above, but for items below that, at least my post office is better. Yeah, it seems like in 3rd world countries corruption is popular, they should just deliver parcels at home just like in the US. They say that the item should be inspected when you claim it to be sure that it doesn't contain illegal items.

Yeah, sometimes the under the table transactions are better! They do that a lot in my country, specially when you are caught doing something in public by an officer, like for example speeding. I haven't dared to do that, but some people do. I hope I don't have to deal with the post office anytime soon, so far I've been here to recieve the package!

By the way, how much "tax" did you pay for that laptop? In my case, I paid $30 "tax" for a $140 smartphone. Yeah, corrupt police officers will make it known to you that they can be bribed, it is a boon and a bane at the same time, but I think in the US that is not rampant, correct me if I'm wrong.

The laptop was $600, and the fee they charged was $60 or so! It still was painful, lol, considering it was a gift! I'm surprised they didn't charge me even more, but it's good to know it's not a good idea to order big electronic things over here. Plus some sellers won't accept to declare a lesser value! By the way, I just got one of my packages delivered this morning!! 3 more to go, lol!

@Trellum I don't think I ever have. I know they have a resolution center. I hope you don't have to go through that.

That was in the US or in Mexico? That's quite a lot, but I'm sure I'd be paying a lot more if I bought a laptop internationally! So from China to the US, how long did you have to wait for the packages to arrive in your home? In my case it's usually 2 to 3 weeks.

That happened in Mexico :nailbiting: but I believe it could have been worse. As for the packages... they haven't made it here yet, it's been 11 days or so. I'm still waiting for them :nailbiting: I hope it turns out good!

Well it depends on the postage company that they use if your parcel will arrive fast or slow. I noticed that Hongkong Post delivers quite fast, but China Post sometimes delivers quite slow. It took 1 to 2 months for the package to arrive here.

I have not had good experience shoppng online with private sellers. As to car parts and items though, I have found places like Rock auto parts where I have gotten great deals on parts and they arrive quickly. If I am dealing with a company or a manufacturer, I usually have no qualms about going online.

    I love online shopping!

My dad's been looking for three films recently, all pretty old and really hard to find. I've just bought them for him so he can finally watch them! Something I'd probably never be able to find in the shops, I found in about 2 minutes online. :D

WOAH!!!!! 2 months from China to the Philipines!!!! How did you resist the urge of filing for a refund??? If my package doesn't arrive in 30 days I'll contact the seller and if nothing is solved by him/her I'll talk with Ebay's customer service.

Lol, before I ask for a refund, I contact the seller 1st, and after more than a month of waiting, I contacted the seller to ask why my package hasn't arrived yet. She offered to re-send another one, so I got 2 cellphone batteries. It's still the same though, the 2nd battery arrived after more than 1 month! When I bought an item from buyincoins, they used China Post again, and it arrived within 2 weeks. I guess the speed of China Post varies.

Yeah, I plan to do the same, just wait 1 month... maybe 35 days exactly, just to give the seller a chance! Then I'll contact the seller, then if she/he ignores my message or doesn't offer a solution I'll contact Ebay customer service. They offer buyer protection, but you must make sure to be following all their rules! Like for example contacting the seller first.

I do shop as well once in a while online, but not that often. I prefer going to the shop directly and see the items personally, probably I am just used to that, plus I love going around and looking for other beautiful things and to be honest I love touching the actual items before I buy it.

Same here, I rarely buy clothes online because I actually like to touch and check the fabric's quality, plus it's so important to try things on and see how them fit. So many times I've seen really cute looking dresses or shirts, but when I try them on... woah! Plus I've problematic boobs, lol. Everything fits well, execepting that zone! I only buy online when I can't find said things in a physical store. Nothing beats the real thing... touching and walking out the store with your items!

Yeah it's not really advisable to buy clothes and shoes and things that need to be fitted like cellphone casings online, because there's a high chance that it might not fit, so you should really just buy those things in real stores.

Yeah, things that can be bought in physical stores should be bought right there  I always order online when I can't find something over here... like this natural supplement I just ordered

This will surly decrease their sale as more people will buy from their local stores. Even i also start buying from my local town or sometimes from my neighbouring town as i frequent buyer i always figure out ways to buy cheaper things and get cheap shipping.
Whenever i need various goods in more quantity then i order it from any e-commerce site like - ebay, amazon and make sure to cross minimum order for free shipping.
And whenever i need less quantity items and i bought from my surrounding then i go myself to pick that or if i am busy i use an errand runner to ship my errand at my location. And i got best pricing for my work as i post my work on citizenshipper in which i place my need and within few minutes i got several bids from which i used according to their reviews, rating and charges. That how i am able to get Cheap shipping for small quantity.

This thing works for me to get rid of high shipping charges.

    Best regards,
    John
