WOW!! 12?! And I thought I was too young to drive when I just started, lol! There is no doubt you beat me at this one :D The experience you mentioned can be quite traumatic for someone who is just starting to drive, I don't blame you for feeling that way at all... I'd not want to touch a car again after having an accident like that, specially if I was that young! I'm glad you could overcome your fears tho :) That's what really matters

It seems as though everyone here got a great opportunity to start learning to drive very early in life. I never got the chance to learn to drive until l was in my mid twenties. As a matter of fact, I learnt to drive using my own car. It was a stick shift and although I had a good instructor I still had some problems catching on with the whole clutch thing.

I know what you mean! Learning to drive on a manual car can be really hard, but once you get the hang of it is all good actually :) at least you learnt to drive! My dentist is 55 and never learnt to drive.

It's only legal to get a license here by 18 years old but I already got my taste of driving at 15 years old. The road was empty and quiet so my father let me drove a little. He liked to train us to drive prior to obtaining a license so we can get one easier.

Same here. I started driving when I was younger as well and can't help but to feel really grateful for this :) It definitely made the while experience easier.

I think I started driving when I was about 16, the person who's car it was and who was teaching me was my, at that time girlfriends mum, she was hilarious in the method of which she taught me and for me driving her car while she's being her goofy self was quite nervewrecking for me but I got used to it pretty quick.

My parents only knew I could drive when I was 16. But I was driving from like 10. My Uncle always let me drive when I was with him. I love driving, I'm a safe driver. But I could handle a street race or two. I'm THAT good :p
