What is the most damage you have done to your car? So far (touch wood), I have not been in any major one where I have to fork out a lot of money for repairs. Right now, my car is filled with dents and scratches but I don't plan on fixing it. One reason is that I don't have the money, and two is that I like it that way, kind of gives my car character.

I've sent a car to scrap in a terrible highway accident, luckily no one was hurt, but the car didn't make it.

I have only been in one serious accident, though it wasn't really my doing. A nut going at high speed didn't see me and, crunch. My Honda CX-R was totalled. Fortunately no one was hurt, but the car was a loss. Beyond that, nothing major, maybe lost a little paint or ding or two over the years.

None, well, a little dent on the back of the car, but that's it. I haven't been in any kind of major car accident, and I'm hoping things continue that way :) My mom taught me to drive safely and be super careful on the road, that's why our cars are in such a great shape

Well, I am usually a really good driver but the only damage I have ever done to my car is backing it up into a trash can. I wasn't paying attention but I got some minor scratches.

I hit one of those concrete electricity poles front-first, left my hood with a distinct V-shape :(
Luckily I wasn't hurt as I wasn't going very fast, I was just taking a turn and caught some gravel, which made the car slide into the pole.

I have only been in two minor accidents since driving, One involving another car and the other just my car. I was driving at about 60 and dropped in a big pothole. My head lamp got broken and cost me over $10,000 to replace.

    Wow, so expensive!
I suppose you had to replace the entire front of the car, right?

I used to have a Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, I loved it! Had the super charged engine with the heads up display, it was my baby haha. Two years ago I was going straight, had a green light so I kept going, but got t-boned by a drunk driver who ran a red light. Next thing I knew I was in the hospital, luckily the only thing that happened was a bad concussion and a broken collar bone, could have been a lot worse. However, my car was totaled :( haha.

Are you serious? That must have been scary... I never lost control of my car to drive it off the road, except once with ice, but it was nothing too serious...

Fortunately not. $10,000.00 would be just $100 US so that was quite reasonable.

I had a ridiculous accident once, I missed the break and hit a car that was stopped. I was going just at 30km/h, but because I didn't break I had a lot of damage... :bored:

Well, if you put $10,000 then I'll assume you are talking about USD, what currency were you talking about?

It was a bit scary, but like I said, I luckily wasn't going very fast as it was on a turn.

I have not really made any major damage to my car. The most it has ever been was hit my side view mirror on another car, but that was a really long time ago. I am much better at driving these days and i handle my car with care and so there are no major dents or scratches on my car.

Once I arrived to my parked car and it was totally recked, that is the truth. Probably some drunk driver hit it from behind and kept on going, it was really surreal situation.

Oh sorry, I should have mentioned. I live in Jamaica. However I doubt our motor vehicle parts come from the US.

$10,000 dollars could easily buy you a decent car, no need to do a repair so expensive... :p :)

That's true, if the repair is that expensive you might as well sell the car to a junkyard and get yourself a new one. :)

Usually insurance companies see if the price of the repair is above the market value of the car and in positive case they just give you the value market of the car, that's the law.
