Sorry to hear your cat has kidney stones!!! How is he now? I hope better! I bet he was feeling really moody, isn't it? Who wouldn't... passing stones is really painful! Have you asked your vet if there was a chance your cat would get those stones again if he ate the wet version? Also... do you ever feed him any other thing?? Because there are soooo many things cats aren't supposed to eat, yet they still do! I've been feeding Bob whiskas for 3 years now. He doesn't eat much, I think I'll start feeding him the wet version as well. Poor kitty :( Not being able to pee must be awful!

Oh that happened way back Dec. 2006, ever since he was given to me last July 2005 to Dec. 2006, we fed him Whiskas, and after we stopped feeding him that he never got sick again. All he eats right now is table food. He never let out any stones, but it was blocking the passageway, so he has a difficult time peeing. Well I think you should stop feeding him Whiskas, just google it and people say that it's harmful, Purina or Evo would be the best ones to feed cats.

Thanks, I surely will  How did you first notice he was unable to pee? It gotta be hard to spot that at first, isn't it? Because isn't easy to see this in a cat. I guess it'd be easier to see this on a dog, but since cats are so secretive... :nailbiting:

I used to have dogs but they are such a pain. Cats are always so chill. Like on a scale of 1 to 10 in chill. They are always at a 10 chill level. Unless they are hungry. They can get a little ravenous in that case.

@Trellum, that time he was still in a cage, and I noticed that he would attempt to pee in his metal basin litter box, but nothing would come out. So when he finally stopped eating we took him to the vet. I googled and attempting to pee and nothing would come out is a sign of kidney problem.

Haha, that's true. Whatever things happen around them, they just don't give a ****! Sometimes they do make a lot of noise but most of the time they're just so quiet and relaxed. Cats don't need too much supervision and that's why I prefer cats than dogs.

Yeah, my cats just come and go as they please. If they want in they make sure we know. Otherwise they really don't make all that much noise and they make the best cuddle buddies :p

In the house it always shows me who's the boss whenever it's hungry. Brings me rats and stuff as though I would eat them lol:cool:

I have had both cats and dogs and I love both animals, but I think when it absolutely comes down to it I would pick cats over dogs. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against dogs and I really love them but I think I would prefer cats more. I have a cat right now and I am looking to get a dog soon, so maybe that will change things but we will have to see!

I know what you mean, I actually have a slight preference for cats as well, mostly because cats can pretty much look after themselves in case an emergency takes place. A dog can't. I also love how independent they are. What breed of doh are you planning to get?

Honestly, neither as I am not a pet person. I just never really felt the need.

Oh ok, poor thing! It must be awful wanting to pee, but not being able to. Urinary tract issues are awful, I suffer from UTIs often if I'm not careful! So I know what is like to suffer from urinary issues :inpain::nailbiting:

Ah yes, that burning sensation after peeing does hurt, I usually feel that too most often during summertime. I noticed that the sting goes away after an hour, how about you? It seems like Bob is still healthy after eating Whiskas for a long time, do you feed him the one that's in a violet box?

Yeah, it's awful!!! We as women are more prone to get a UTI :( We as women are at a disadvantage at sooooooo many things!!!! One of them is this, but I'm learning to prevent those ;) Yeah, I feed him the one in the violet box. I'll try to find a better option after my trip. What are you feeding yours now?

I just feed him table food nowadays, and he hasn't gotten sick ever since. Maybe your cat isn't prone to get kidney stones, or the Whiskas that you have been feeding him are the "clean" ones already? Because there were several pet food recalls before right?

Ow, what kind of things do you feed him? I read a post a while ago about making your own cat food, I thought it was crazy because it sounded like extra work for me :D:roflmao: So I thought: ''Why would someone get in the trouble to do something like this?''. Well, now I know why! I think I'll stop feeding him that :arghh: By the way... I never heard of that! Over here they don't really talk about that kind of things (they're shady).

I feed him rice and steamed fish most of the time. Whatever we eat, he also eats, lol. My cat is now showing the signs of diabetes so I need to remove rice from his diet.

Although cats can be pretty independent, dogs aren't exactly helpless. They are fine by themselves for a while if you leave them with plenty of food and water. They will get a bit emotional if you leave them by themselves for too long, but it's a sweet thing when they are so excited to see you. The only big issue with dogs is that they don't use litter boxes. However if you have a fenced in yard and a doggy door, that is not as much of an issue. You can also get those fake grass patches for them to go on in the house while you are away.

Hehehe! Lucky kitty!!! Not many kitties get to eat rice and fish  My boyfriend's family do something similar. I might start doing the same in the future ;) Uhm, if he has issues with diabetes, then he must stay away from carbs, including the vegetable ones, like potatoes, beans and corn. I know because I suffer from insulin resistance.
