I haven't smoked in over twelve years and even when I did smoke it was never in my car. I don't allow anyone to smoke in my car because of that nasty crap that builds up everywhere inside. My girlfriend smokes and she even knows better than to smoke in my car.

My parents smoke in the car and it is really annoying because they are stubborn about it, and refuse not to. It's the same within the house, they smoke in every room without regard for me or the dog. I think smokers just forget how bad it is, and just how it stains everything around them.

Well, you still have a shot at redemption, :p you can still quit. You know the thing that I noticed about smoking is that it is more of a habit than an addiction, I was chain smoking one day and on my 4th cigarette, I paused and I asked myself why I was doing it yet it only kept on harming me and those around me, and just like that I stopped, but that was after about 2 weeks. :). It's possible you can stop smoking.

I agree with you. I have stopped in the past but as you say it is a habit. Before my last kidney stone attack (lol...when I decided that i was surely going to die, I just said screw it and got a pack.) Well, I did not die but am smoking again. I did stop drinking alcohol last month and I guess one of these days I will decide to stop smoking again. If I go one day without a smoke I am fine...the second day I am reaching for one, and by the third day I don't even think about it. Thanks for the encouragement! I'll repost this one when I stop again...in near future.

hahaha, well, I think you should get rid of everything that reminds you of smoking too for instance you lighter, ash tray and the like. I also noticed that it really is hard to quit when you still got all that paraphernalia hanging around. I remember I used to have a really cute lighter that I always kept in my pocket, and although I had quit smoking, just the sight of it made me buy a pack of cigarettes and before long I was back at it again, lol, so my wife gave a me a helping hand by helping me throw the lighter away. We did it together and ever since, i haven't smoked. :)

I actually do smoke in the car, but I am just too much of a smoker not to. I know it's probably not good for the interior, but what are you going to do? Sometimes I need a cigarette.

I am not a smoker so I don't have to deal with this kind of problem. If in case I do smoke, I will never try to smoke inside my car. Smoking isn't only bad for your bad but as well as to your overall health so people should better stop from smoking.

Now don't judge me, but I have smoked before since I worked in China for a while and it's very socially acceptable to smoke there. I don't smoke often now because I know it's bad for me and I don't want to be smoking around others. That being said, I would never ever smoke in a car because it's just disrespectful to the owner and if my own car smelled of smoke, it would be disrespectful to passengers.

    PSA: Don't smoke haha.

Wow! Thank you for posting those photos. That is ridiculous how much cigarette smoke can damage a car like that! It's very gross, haha. I do not smoke and I do not plan on smoking ever. I am glad I don't smoke because I do not want to damage my car.

I strongly recommend not smoking as well, but if there are smokers out there trying to quit, I can create a thread for you all. I've been through it and am doing well now.

Jeez i did not know that it got that bad. I am not a smoker so have never experienced such, but from looking at these pics i really do wonder why people smoke in their cars.....its pretty messy.....and the ashes get everywhere.....the end result and smell is just not great.

That lovely mess us what is coming off of ever piece inside that vehicle. Its from the cigarettes. Its nasty. It gets on everything. That would be on the foam and metal under the seats, under the dash, behind the dash panels, in the vents and so on. It makes it hard to clean a vehicle that was smoked in.

Woah, I had no idea that smoking inside your car could do that.... can you imagine what smoking does inside your body??? If it does this to a car... I wonder what it looks like inside a smoker's lungs :nailbiting:

One of several factors that helped me get off cigarettes was simply cleaning the windshield. I was in 'commuter mode' with that vehicle and smoked a fair bit inside the vehicle. Now it is getting close to the 16 year mark.

Congrats on quitting. I think I mentioned it before but it took me about 6 months to clean the windshield on my first car. Bought it from my uncle. He smoked a lot. I b would think h had it and you would still see it. Drove me nuts

I hate when people smoke in the car like my dad does. Fortunately, I am never in the car with him, but I have spent a few years smoking his cigarettes and my mother still does... :( No one smokes in my car, no way.
