@Rob93FL, Well I'm sure you've also heard the saying that some things just can't be explained, right? Man isn't that perfect to be able to find an explanation for everything, so I don't negate the existence of something just because science can't explain it.

Oh yeah, I watched that movie a long time ago, if I'm not mistaken this one is a remake of an older film, right? I'm not sure tho, so many remakes nowadays... they are going for the second remake of the Amityville horror.

Rob, I think you misunderstood my words a little, I didn't mean I actually believed in the existence of reptilians, what I meant to say I'm with Sidney when she said ''everything is possible'' with her own words. But nope, I don't believe in reptilians, but I respect those who do ;) They might or might not exist. Who knows.

We don't have to be perfect to find an explanation for everything. Just because something can't be explained now doesn't mean that it can't be explained in the future.

I think that most people don't have time to read books and that is why we watch movies. It has to be a really interesting topic for me to read a book.

I love reading! I would have to say I read about 1-2 books per month. So within one year I would say I read on average about 17 books. I mostly stick to the "self-help" type books on goal setting, business planning, etc.

That is impressive, how do you manage to read so many books per month? Do you buy them all?

That is not always possible, because the skeptics will bring up God, and currently, no one alive has been able to prove His existence so far.
Man's knowledge of things are bound to be limited.

That's true, it's impossible to explain to reason the existence of God despite there are a lot of evidences, like life itself.

Big fan of that kind f books as well (self-help) but I find it kinda hard sometimes to actually apply what I learn on those books, due lack of opportunity. But I find that kind of books really enriching and helpful. I prefer those over fiction, but there are a couple fiction books I'm dying to read, sadly I have no time for that right now :(:sorry::blackeye:

That is true, the self help books give wonderful ideas and astonishing results, but putting them in practice is a whole lot different than just reading them.

Life is no more evidence of existence of your god than it is evidence of the existence of Thor, Vishnu, or Zeus.

With a resounding "YES!", I've been reading ever forever and before that I was being read to, usually fantasy like Tolkien or Grimm's fairy tales. I use to read a lot of fantasy, I still do (to an extent). Big fan of Game of Thrones, watch the tv series too and I really enjoy the Malazan series. Read a lot of classic science fiction, mainly the works of Asimov, like the Foundation series. Throw in some literature too while you're at it, like classic "hard" reads, such as War and Peace.

If I'm not reading a book I'm usually reading a magazine about cars or airplanes.

I like fiction too :) I also like fairy tales, hehe, but don't read those often. I still read more non fiction (whenever time allows). It's cool you compliment your reading with magazines :) They don't seem that common anymore tho, I mean, the more time passes by the less people I see reading or even holding a magazine :(

I am actually not a reader, but I do like to read. I go through moments were I want to read, but then I don't. To be honest, the last good book I read was probably 5 years ago. It is very sad, but true. At that time I was really into reading books. I went to the book store and bought several books that were interesting to me and read them within a month or two. I guess I drain myself out, but I know 5 years is way pass recuperating. I like to read romance, love or mystery novels.

For me, I love reading, but the lack of time is a problem. Also, I have some books that I need to read for the lectures, so that even further limits my time with my preferred books.

Same here, Insomnia... the main issue for me is lack of time. If I had more time for myself I'd surely read more, sadly that's how it is right now :( I know what you feel by the way, back when I was going to the school I had to read a lot books I didn't want to dread and was actually longing to read the books I was really intersted in.

Come on, so life has appeared out of an accident or some darwin theory of evolution? I respect different opinions naturally, but IMO something superior had to put order in the chaos and create life.

Evolution doesn't claim to explain the origin of life; it only explains the diversity of life.

As far as where life came from, I don't know. There is a field of study for this called abiogenesis. We might not know where life came from, but we have a lot of good ideas. We have a solid idea of how life evolved from single-celled organisms to the life we have today, and the big question is how those first cells came about. At the end of the day, it's all chemistry, and experiments have shown some astounding things. We've been able to take mixtures of simple, inorganic compounds, zap them with a little electricity, and get critical components for the life we see today (Miller-Urey experiment at Harvard). We haven't yet fabricated life, but there's nothing to suggest that we never will.

It is okay to admit that we don't know something. "I don't know" doesn't make the hypothesis "God (or any other supernatural force) did it" any more valid.

I love reading. I recently plowed through the Game of Thrones series so now I'm trying to find some new books to read.
