Bought him March 6th for ~$25k, was under invoice and already had tinting, the DRL's I wanted, the rear lip (though I plan to buy a different one) and the whiteout color which was more.

    What I've Done:
    - Clear sidemarkers
    - Swapped interior lights for LED's
    - Swapped tag lights for LED's
    - Shorter antenna, bought the 2in Stubby. Might change it to a shark fin later.
    - Planning on plastidipping the wheels either a seafoam or deep purple. I have a lot of time on my hands and I don't plan to keep them forever, so why not?

    Plans:
    - Vinyl wrap the roof (carbon fiber or black, not sure yet.)
    - New wheels. Hope to get this done before I need new tires, so I can knock it out all at once.
    - New grille. Looking at making a custom one, since none of the ones I can find will work with my DRL's.
    - Coilovers at some point. Can't lower him until I graduate college or I won't be able to get in the parking lot. :( Can't afford bags.

First picture I took of him :) It was cold and starting to rain so I didn't have much time to get any good ones.

First picture I took when I got home, still rainy and muddy :( Bonus Durango in the back. How much does it suck to drive a brand new car home in rain/hail/super harsh winds? A lot.

His first booboo. Kicked up some rocks about 2 weeks after buying. It looks a lot bigger in the picture, you actually wouldn't notice it unless I specifically pointed it out to you or you were looking for something.

Clear sidemarkers. I hated the amber, and I think it looks amazing with the whiteout. I still have the others on the off chance someone needs them, or mine get messed up. Bought them from ViciousLED for about $35 or so, came with the white LED and I swapped that out too. Bonus '93 3000GT vr4 in the back.

The FR-S and my boyfriends Yaris. I think this was when the Yaris needed a new headlight. Think he was sitting at about 4in here.

This was the only FR-S I got a picture of at Import Alliance in Atlanta. It was gorgeous, and I wish I could have taken more, but my phone crapped out.

And bonus Ozzy. He knows which car is the best, so he sleeps beside it :)

edit: forgot to block out license plate.

Beautifuly stunning car mate, I loved these from the day they came out. I am tempted to get one... as soon as the price drops... there is just so much that can be done with them.

There really is. They're just begging to be stripped. They get a lot of hate because of the horsepower but as light weight as the car is... it's not a big deal. It's also not a luxury car, and I'm so tired of my friends going, "Oh but I want lane switch assist... and media controls on my steering wheel..." There's always the BRZ Limited that's more of a grown up version anyways.

Depending on your insurance, you might be able to find one relatively cheap with a salvage title. A lot of insurance companies won't accept them though. Tons of kids get these cars, thinking they're the next Ken Block, and total them. Have to put some work into it, but you'd still come out a lot cheaper than buying one.

Nice car. If they are picking on the horse power then they don't understand the concept of that car.

I believe I put Jay Leno's test drive of one on here. He loved it. From what I remember, he said you can have a lot of fun with it because of that.

I like what you did with it so far.

I would love to be friends with Jay Leno... I still watch the Top Gear episode where they reviewed the GT86. This gif of Clarkson is a pretty much exactly how I feel every time I drive mine.

If only haha, where I am these cars are very expensive and way out of my budget unless I get one on finance. The only trouble then is I will be paying it off for years to come.

There's so many posts on the subreddit for this car, people asking whether they should finance or not. I'd never recommend it unless you absolutely need a car, and in that case, you don't need a brand new car. It's such a hassle and not worth it at all in my opinion.

It's a fantastic car, but it's not worth paying twice as much for it when you finance, which is usually what it comes out to be.

Hmm I would really love one but my budget for a new car is only around the £3000 mark.

In some cases, people can't afford to buy. Then you have to finance. Who you use depends on the available rates. If you get the right rate it can change what is the best option. I know a guy that could afford a new truck with the money from selling his old one and his money he had saved up. Well they had a 0% offer. He said why pay for it when I can earn money on my cash and pay no interest. That was a deal he couldn't pass up.

In some cases it's okay, but a lot of people end up paying crazy on the interest and it's not worth it in my opinion. Just something you really have to watch out for. A lot of my friends are stuck paying car payments that they can barely afford just because they wanted the new shiny car, but didn't have the money for it. =/

A lot of people buy things they can afford. But most don't have the cash to buy so they need to borrow. Sometimes you can get low rates so it isn't that bad.

In my Jeep thread I started looking for ones that I could save up for or borrow a small amount. A lot were in rough shape so it would cost a lot in repairs. So now I I will be borrowing more. So I will be paying more then the cost of the Jeep because of interest. But there is was to cut that amount down.

I added your car to the showcase. There are now tabs at the top of your thread. You can add pictures to the thread like you have been and add some to the gallery. You can also add all your upgrade details to the showcase to make it easier for people to see.

I added them for you. You just have to hit edit and then you can add pictures and add info about the car. The car is looking good. Looks like your boyfriend got new rims.

Did you ask if they had the 86 plate there? Sometimes they will give it to you.

Yeah... he did. >.< He switched his bottlecaps for some Enkei's at Import Alliance... and then bought Whistler's haha. His camera is way better than mine so I asked him to take some pictures of my car after we gave them baths. He took like, five of mine, and 150 of his. :(

The Enkei's are stacked up over on the side in that second picture.

I had my license plate mailed to me since Toyota was kind of a jerk about it, so I didn't go the DMV for it. I'm not sure if they'd be willing to give me another one since you have to pay $20 here for a stolen tag, and a customized plate is like $150 a year or so.
