I decided to get into geocaching this weekend. I have been doing it with the kids and we are loving it. So far I have found five. Three of them were with my kids and two were solo.

Our first cache was on Graves Island GC13YGE ANSG Official Geocache.

I got the app working just after I got the kids out of the water while at the beach. Looked at the map and found out there was two on the island. We decided to search for the one that was on the way back to our campsite.

We were able to figure the app out and made our way to the cache. We were all excited to find our first one.

For the second one we went after supper. We took more family members with us and hiked to the location.

Our second find was, Graves Island Trail Cache.

I need to find and add my pictures for this one.

Today we decided to search for our third after getting home from camping.

We headed for the Bluff Trail. We looked at the map and a name jumped out to us. No Polar Bear Here
    GLJTRGT3.

We decided that we wanted to find that one.

It took a few minutes to figure out exactly where to leave the trial and start our hike into the woods. We found a spot that looked good and made our way in. I was really impressed with the accuracy of the app and the gps on my Blackberry Z10. We are using Cachsense to find the caches.

After that one they pretty much had enough. They had itchy ankles and thirsty. I forgot to bring drinks. So I took them home and decided I wanted to do more.

So I grabbed some water and made my way back to the trail solo.

I decided to try to find, BLT Series "The Law of" #9
    GLJTTTJ2

I liked this one. The GPS had me right there. I just needed to find it. It had me scratching my head for a few minute.

I had to find another one. Picked R2T - 9
    GLJTTXRV

Once again I was impressed with the accuracy of the gps. I was very close to this cache and was immediately was attacked by mosquitoes. It was unreal. I was about to leave but I didn't want to give up on my search. I had to push on, just had to do it fast. I walked a few more feet and was debating on returning on another day to find this one but caught a glimpse of something in the corner of my eye. I went in and there it was. I opened that quick and signed the log. I didn't remove any other contents because of the full on attack. I was happy I stuck with it. Note to self. Put on bug spray before heading out.

I'm really enjoying this and can't wait to head out for some more.
