    Now that Volkswagen is playing in nearly every automotive segment in America, it’s only logical that the automaker would seriously consider fielding a pickup here. Although it’s officially just a concept at this point, the Volkswagen Atlas–based Tanoak pickup seems like an obvious play. After all, VW has been talking about it for years, and with the Chattanooga-built Atlas SUV’s MQB architecture providing a sturdy base to build on—as well as a convenient way to sidestep the import duty on trucks—it seems as if the planets may have finally aligned.
