Went out with a friend last weekend to play in the Jeeps. It was a short run. A little late in the day to start plus there was some ice under the snow so it wasn't a good idea to much farther.

Cool vid. Thanks for posting. :)

This has been one nasty winter (storms, snow, ice, freezing rain/fog, sleet, etc.) here in the Pacific Northwest. Has it been that way up north too?

Thank you. Had fun that day.

This winter has been weird. We had a light snowfall before the one in the video. That one was bigger. Then it all went away. Since that video we had nothing fall that stayed until last week. We had snow on two different days and have some snow on the ground now. We had about 5 cms (less than 2 inches) last night. Tomorrow nigh they are calling for 20-30 cms (7.8-11.8'). They were saying this was going to be a bad winter but that changed before winter. We had some cold days but nothing crazy.

Do you have a lot of snow down?

It has certainly been weird here too. Where I am specifically, no more snow, other than the hills and mountains. But other parts of Washington, Idaho, and Oregon are still buried. We had a huge snow dump and then lots of rain and assorted nastiness (freezing fog, sleet, etc.). The weather finally washed out an old drainage system in the road up to our house, so that was a delight getting fixed, but it is done now.

Fortunately, our primary vehicles (Ford F150 and Jeep Cherokee) are both 4WD, so we can plough through it all without to much trouble. The utility vehicle (Kawasaki MULE) is acting up again and I traced it back to the carburetor, but working six day work weeks has left me with little time to mess with it. But, I digress.

4wd can come in handy with conditions like that. Sucks that the Mule is acting up again. A guy I now is having problems with this 4 wheeler. It was bogging down. I said he should check the choke and that is what it was. So he has to find the time to tear it apart. That is always fun.

Our storm is starting now. I need to run down to the gas station to pick up more fuel. If we get what they are calling for I will need it.

Thanks. Looked bad early on but doesn't at the moment. I went out to get extra fuel for the snowblower so I was ready. A lot of plows out early so they are ready for it. From what I here is should snow for 7 more hours. But if it stays the way it is that won't be bad.

Here are a few from tonight.

We have had much worse than this. See what we end up with by morning.

My wife said we are going to get some on Monday and Wednesday now. So I guess winter is going to start now.

Fortunately, most of the snow is gone here. This is one I took at the top of my driveway in January:
