Yes, I am teaching my wife to drive at the moment and I am guilty on all counts here, I even grab the wheel at times if I feel she is not going to make a corner or is running to close to the edge of the road. Wish I had secondary controls fitted to my car

Two questions; do you drive and is your wife not a good driver? Secondly, why don't you do the driving if you don't trust her driving?:nailbiting:

When I'm in the passenger seat I am usually still in control of the car just not in the drivers seat. I see everything before the driver does and I do everything to keep us safe. If the driver is going above the speed limit then my actions usually double. I'm certainly not a good passenger.

i never do that. my sister always does this when my other sister is driving and it gets her so worked up. it can get very annoying especially when you start to treat the driver like he/she has only just completed their driving course.

When i am in the passenger seat i dont do any backseat driving, but i do tend to check out for any dangers and i stay alert a whole lot and make sure nothing bad happens to me. I really feel that it is paramount to stay alert and to stay alive.

Good question, when I'm at the passenger seat with my wife I'm somewhat unsettled lol, but I respect her driving anyway, she does her best and I'm happy with that, even though inside I feel like giving some advice.

No, I don't do that and I hate when people try to do it to me. I only ride with people I feel comfortable with and know that they are pretty good drivers. That's once every few years because I'm always the one doing all of the driving.

No but I have done a break check a few times in my time lol. When I am the passenger I tend not to worry about what the driver is doing. I will never ride with anyone that I can not trust driving.

P.S. some times I will even sleep as the passenger lol

I have done this in the past, but only once or twice. I usually just go along for the ride though whenever I am the passenger in any vehicle. Occasionally, I will check or traffic issues or any errors that the driver might be making, but for the most part I am relaxed in my seat.

No, I just sit back and relax! I'd never do such a thing! I like to relax when I'm not driving, but I know for sure that my mom would try something like that. She likes to direct me when I drive, so stressing!

I'm guilty of this all the time, and I always get told to stop side seat driving lol. But whenever they really need my help and don't ask I'm just like okay, I could have told you but you told me to stop side seat driving lol.

I used to get nervous when my wife was driving because I felt she was doing it wrong, but I've learned that nothing good comes from that, she got upset and drive equal, so now I just try to relax. Luckily, I drive most of the time. :D

Gelsemium, I'm happy your wife is now driving as you are because somehow females driving is always under the radar by males. Your ratings can can cause nervousness and doubt so good for you , you can now relax and enjoy the ride.

That's true, I always remember when my dad was trying to "teach" my mother, he did such an horrible job that she never drove in her life. I think that women should drive really, unless they don't want to for some reason.

I had similar experience with my husband at the initial stage of my learning so I went out and got driving lessons at the school. After that he was much more patient in assisting me in the areas that I still needed help. We just have to be strong and not allow anything to hold us back.

Well done for you rosa! :D My dad tried to do that with me too when I was learning how to drive, he gave me one "lesson" only and I said I wanted no more, he just gets too nervous and can't teach, it's not his best side... :)

I am definitely guilty of being a passsenger seat driver. The driver gets upset and says don't tell me how to drive but there are just some times where you need to make your voice heard.

    Same here! hahah
I guess it's just intuitive since you're used to be the one doing the driving. It's actually good, more security!
