Whether you gauge it by performance, gas mileage, reliability, etc, Which country do you guys think makes the best cars?

For example, I really like Japanese cars because they're simply designed and easy to maintain. If there is a problem with your vehicle, repairs are usually significantly cheaper than if you took a BMW for service. Japanese cars tend to also have excellent gas mileage which is huge.

Japanese cars and now to some extent South Korean cars. They are quite light, easy to use, easy to meddle :) and still long lasting.

Oh come on. You know I am going to say American Cars. When you think of a classic, you think of a Mustang, Camaro or lately all the muscle cars of the 70's. How many other nation's cars of this era are still around? There is a reason for the appeal and longevity of American cars.

I don't think anyone country does everything better then the other.

I don't find Japanese cars any cheaper to maintain. Maybe cheaper then BMW but I think my American cars were cheaper to maintain and buy.

For sports cars (exotics) I'm a Italian fan. Lamborhgini being the main brand.

Luxury suv would be British (Land Rover) and American (Cadillac)

    Pick up trucks. American.

For big cars I miss Oldsmobile. If I had the money I would love to own the brand and try to bring it back.

I'm not a small car kinda guy. Bit for them I guess I would have to go Germany (VW Golf GTI) and British/Germany (Mini Cooper S).

I would have to say that Japan, Europe, and the US makes the best cars. The European made ones reek of sophistication and they seem to have added security as compared to other cars.

For trucks, generally I've gone American made (Ford), but have owned and driven one Japanese vehicle (Nissan). For sedan, I'm going to say American (loved Oldsmobiles, but alas, they are no longer made). For a small, economy car, Japanese.
