What do you guys prefer? I know there are a lot of Brits and Canadians I see posting here so this should be interesting to see what kind of following we have here.

I love both but I have to go with college football. The game is just so unpredictable and dynamic. Big plays are just waiting to happen and you never know who is going to break out and just destroy the competition. It also helps to get wasted on a Saturday and then wake up with a hangover on Sunday.

I would have to say NFL. I don't follow enough to know many players in college. I find it easier when you know the names of some of the players your watching. I do watch some college but not like I do for the NFL. I don't watch too much CFL. The upright location seems like a bad idea and I'm not a big fan of the 3 downs.

NFL. The college game is too sloppy and too unsophisticated to keep my interest. I also think there are too many teams to follow. I come from New York, and college football isn't really that big there. I moved to Florida where it's probably the biggest sport in the South. Even after 15 years of living in Florida, I still don't get into it like the fans down here do. I get sucked into the hype of bowl games. But I watch for 5 minutes then turn the channel.

Football is sloppy and unsophisticated in general. The NFL is a bit less "sloppy," but nothing about the sport is sophisticated. It takes a lot of intelligence to be on the field but as an observer there is no way to call football sophisticated, on or off the field.

I prefer to watch college football than an NFL game. I think college football is more exciting and you never know what's going to happen in the game. Also, NFL football just seems to boring for to me, I think the NFL is missing music bands. And maybe that will help the NFL become more alive.

I enjoy the NFL more myself. College Football seems a little busy for me. All those conferences and divisions,my God. :wtf: My head is spinning.

But I do love NFL,thats for sure!

I agree on the divisions and the rankings. It's not something you just watch and understand right that second. Because of that and the players being on a team for a short time it takes a little more effort in my opinion. I do like the big bands.

Yes. I'm thirty years old and it's just ridiculous trying to keep up with all the divisions and rankings. Maybe if I was a teenager I could devote the time to it, but nowadays I'm just too busy. I'll stick with the good old NFL and my Saints. :D

Have a band playing on the sideline the entire game with the cheerleaders dancing? That would be awesome; just lower their mics and raise the refs when they need to make a call and then move on from there. I like it.

NFL all the way. I can't say that I would turn down watching a college game, but I prefer watching the pros go at it. That's really bad to say because I live in a college football towm (Knoxville, TN-Home of the University of Tennessee Volunteers). I can't wait for Monday Night Football to get geared back up. I know the preseason games are on...but it's time to start the countdown to the Super Bowl!

There are only 6 conferences in college football that are considered "major" conferences, while the NFL has 8 divisions to sort out. The rankings are posted on every website on Earth and don't require you to put any effort into knowing it; just look at it and see who is on top for that week. Only the Top 25 teams are ranked and usually the bigger programs and conferences are getting the TV time. It takes maybe 30 seconds when looking at the rankings to see how they were determined (i.e. coaches' poll, AP poll, computer determination...those are all pretty easy ways to know how they are ranked).

I guess I am asking how college football is more "busy" and requires more effort? In the NFL you need to keep in mind all of the teams but in college the Top 25 is the important line for the week. I don't get how college is any more work than the NFL. If you all take 30 minutes a week to watch College Gameday on ESPN you will see that from the fans POV there is very little work involved. You follow the team you want and root for them, just like the NFL.

I watched a sports show one day and the guys on the show couldn't figure out the rankings. With NFL its easy. More wins then everyone else and your on top. Simple. I'm not saying I couldn't figure out college football, its that I don't take the time. I find I only really pay much attention to it when there is a top player doing big things the year before the draft. And that might be the only time. I don't normally have the time to watch all of the NFL games I would like.

I do watch some college games I just don't follow it. I find the games are great to watch and the energy in the stands is amazing. I would love to see one live.

Wow, that is exactly how I feel about it. Don't get me wrong, college ball is entertaining, I just can't take the time to immerse myself in it. Good post Flexin, you basically said exactly what I wanted to write here, classic. :roflmao:
