My 2005 Subaru Legacy GT

    I've had her for almost two years now and it's been a blast.
    This is my first turbo subie and first manual car ever. It was a rough ride at first because I had to spend some money on replacing a blown turbo, timing belt, water pump, brakes etc.

    Once she was fixed, I did my first ever track day and autocross with her and she performed admirably. No overheating, check engine lights and most importantly, I didn't wreck it.

    I think once she reaches 200,000 kms I will invest in a engine rebuild so I can turn this thing into an actual Kaiju beast!

    Nice car. I almost bought one at a auto auction but something told me not to. It is one car that has been on my list most times when looking at cars.

    If it was from an auction it would've most likely had a blown turbo. It was a very common problem on the 05 and 06s. If it was way below market value then it maybe worth it as the turbo replacement costs about $2k to fix.

    It was a dealer auction. It ran but I wasn't confortable with the sound of the engine. I wasn't 100% sure it was the normal sound of the engine or if it was having issues. I decided to get the Mazda Tribute that I picked up for a great price.

    Very nice. I believe the Mazda Tribute is the Ford Escape right? Solid vehicles though. A co-worker of mine just picked one up. His was $11k with 90,000kms on the clock. Okay deal I guess.

    Yeah they are basicly an Escape. We had it about 5 years. It was good but was getting expensive in the end. Its a 2004. I'm going to miss the AWD this winter.

    I've always loved Subarus... There is just something about the way they sound (when they have an unequal length header) that always grabs my attention whenever I hear one. Would love to have a Wrx/Sti as my next vehicle, they are #2 on my list of cars I would love to actually own in the future (second only to the Toyota gt86).

    I like a nice clean car. I'm not a huge fan of 'rice burners' in general, I prefer brute horsepower on classic frames, but I do appreciate an understated car that can perform! I chuckle when I see a guy drive by with a stock 4 cylinder engine and a glass pack attached to make it sound louder. It's worse when they have a wing on the back, ridiculous rims and a 5k paintjob attached to that stock 4 cylinder...

    Anyway, focus more on the engine than the body and you can't go wrong. Stock looking with power is better than a tricked out look with nothing under the hood... in my opinion. Nice ride.

    Thanks guys.

    I'm definitely going to focus on the engine and make it a sleeper. It's currently on a Cobb stage 1 tune and I'm planning to go stage 2.

    Haven't heard of Cobb before now. I was just checking out their website. What all is involved in the stage one? Is it a power tuner? What do you add with the stage 2?
