Last month alone there were like 4 incidents involving airplanes. The positive side is that not all of them were very disastrous. Do any of you travel by plane a lot? And if you do are you scared?

I do travel by plane a lot because I often move to different countries. I got used to it by now, but I'm quite scared after all of those plane crashes I have heard about on the news lately.

Yeah, there was even an accident today, but it was more of a hoax. Some guy said something about a bomb or device in a plane, and the plane had to get escorted to manchesters airport by a jet and once it landed, armed police entered and arrested the guy. He got arrested for causing a hoax I believe.

I am always scared whenever I travel by plane. From the bumpy ride to terrorism, they all cross my mind. We just have to live and love everyone everyday and pray that our lives are not affected by this in any negative way.

No, I don't travel by plane a lot. These days it is hard to trust what is going to go on up in that sky, but one just has to pray and hope for the best, and be wise about certain things. These are interesting times that we are living in.

    I'm a pilot so I definitely fly a lot. :)
Those accidents don't really scare me, but they make me sad that they happened. Each one happened for a reason, and everyone usually learns from those mistakes if they can be fixed, so flying becomes safer.

So mcjones, you never felt weird or had any doubts or nervousness before or even during the flight? I guess that's why they say we can't all be the same. We all have different jobs and some of us wouldn't change ours for anything. Good luck to you.

You have more chance of being struck by lightning than you do to die in an airplane crash. So...that's something I guess?

My sister travel by air a lot. She goes back and forth between home and the Philippines. My family is worried sometimes but she doesn't seem scared at all. Maybe it's because flying is still the safest way to travel. We never seem to worry about car accidents, right?

I do dread travelling in a plane now but the fact that these happen within a small time frame is a statistical coincidence, the same way that the combination 123456 has as much chance as anything else of coming up in a lottery,it is pure chance.i feel sad though that it has been happening like this.RIP to all those persons dead.

I agree with you but I don't think it's easy to dismiss how you feel. Unless you have a personal experience on land, you seldom have thoughts about road accidents. Plane crashes on the other hand, is different. It is constantly in the news with a big buzz so being on an aircraft will often times bring back memories.

I'm scared of flying, I'll definitely be scared the next time I fly, but I guess I can do nothing but hope for the best. In the end is the only thing we can do.

I'm so jealous that you're a pilot:arghh:. I wouldn't mind learning how to fly my own plane or a helicopter.
