Bentley pondering foray into the armored car business

n a move that makes us say, "Well... of course," The Guardian reports that Bentley is contemplating the creation of a division that would build "armour-plated" versions of its cars. The competitors in mass-market luxury and premium luxury already have such divisions – BMW just announced the latest versions of its armored 7 Series and Rolls-Royce launched an armored Phantom five years ago, for starters – and third-party companies are already producing armored Mulsannes and Flying Spur Speeds.

If I had the need and money for an armored car, I would love it to be a Bentley.

I assumed that all of these luxury car companies offered armored versoins of their vehicals, for those with the coinage to afford it.

I mean, if you have to ask how much that upgrade costs...You probably can't swing it.

I don't plan on ticking anyone off to the extent to needing a bullet proof car. The idea of having one sounds cool though.

Having the money to afford one might be enough to make someone try something. Sometimes Its just the area someone lives in. Or if your a high level executive and have to travel to some countires that are bad for car jackings or other such issues, it might not be a bad idea to have one or have use of one while traveling in that country.

Actually, I thought that Bentley already did this. When I saw the post title, I was thinking that maybe they were going to branch out into the armored security business. Hopefully i don't make too many people mad on my way to being rich enough to be able to roll around in a Bentley:cool:

LOL. I didn't know the other manufactures did this. I know other companies do it but I didn't know any did it on their own.

I think they are following the trend just like BMW is. Bentleys are beautiful automobiles. No doubt the people who can afford them may want that extra security.
