I love all kinds of pizza, pizza is one of my favorite foods.
I sometimes like the homemade kind as opposed to the kind made in a pizza parlor.
My son's dad loves to cook, and he makes fabulous
homemade pizza, his pizzas inspired me to make my
    own. Delicious :)

I consider myself good in the kitchen but pizza is one dish I can't prepare. I have tried several recipes and I'm still unable to get the perfect crust. I wish I was able to make great pizzas like your sons dad. Maybe you can share some tips.

I'm kind of good in the kitchen too, but I haven't yet made my own pizza dough/crust.

My son's dad doesn't make his dough from scratch either. He buys all fresh ingredients to put on the crust, but when it comes to the crust itself, he uses ready made dough. Pillsbury has ready-made pizza dough, and they have some tasty looking pizza recipes on their website:hungry:.

I think one of the keys to a good pizza dough is rolling it out on cornmeal instead of flour. I really don't know for sure though, because like I said, I haven't made my own dough. I'm curious to find out if I could do it though. I really like pizza, and the more homemade the better.

I'm not really picky when it comes to pizza. There aren't too many toppings, to me, that are nasty. I usually go with ham, sausage, chicken, or pepperoni whenever I decide to have pizza for lunch or dinner. The only thing I don't really like is having vegetables on my pizza. Vegetables and pizza should never go together, lol. That's just wrong!!!!! hahahahaha

This tip does make sense, Velvetsongs. The next time I try making my own pizza I'll certainly try it. If it doesn't work my next move will be to use ready made dough.

Yes, ready made dough is the easy way to homemade pizza. I really like pizza, but I really don't trust eating at restaurants all that
much. I just saw on Youtube yesterday where some guy ordered a pizza and it had a hairball in it!!:nailbiting::eek::wideeye::yuck::yuck: So gross.
The only hands that I want touching my food when I make it are my own!

I wish I could say the same about not eating out. It is way down on my scale because I am working hard at losing weight but I can't cross it off yet since I do go on special occasions. Seeing hairball in pizza, that was rather disgusting. As much as I love pizza I don't know how soon I could get back to eating, it if I witnessed that.

I know what you mean, not having vegetables on pizza. I use to be think that way too but after having to eat more vegetable as part of my weight loss process, I have come to appreciate vegetables. If I have pizza now, I'd rather have more vegetable and less meat.

I have a lot of weight to lose. Rosa, u know me from another forum, from smarthealthshop. I'm "Striver" with the HelloKitty icon:thumbsup:.
On that forum I've talked a lot about needing to lose some weight, so I understand the weight loss struggle, believe me.

I really don't like eating out in restaurants, it really grosses me out to tell the truth. Even in a so-called "upscale" restaurant,
I still don't trust it. I need to see people washing their hands, I need to know that they have scrubbed under
their fingernails for me to really trust someone's cooking.

Even some of my closest acquaintances, I have a problem eating the food that they cook:yuck:.

Don't get me wrong, I still eat out sometimes, I really am addicted to some of the flavors out there, like McDonald's hamburgers and stuff like that,
but for the most part, I prefer to eat only the food that I cook.

Have you ever seen a series called, "Caught on tape" where hidden cameras catch people in restaurants
doing all kinds of disgusting stuff to people's food??:eek::mad::yuck::yuck:

Hi Striver, sorry I didn't realize you were the same person. You know, we just have to keep ourselves motivated in order to lose the extra pounds so lets not give up.

Sure I've seen those awful "caught on tape' images and it's really creepy. I've seen food been placed in bosom and under arm before going out to the customer and even one guy urinated in the beer before giving it to the patron. I heard that you have to be extra nice to the waiter/server when you eat in but like with drive thru and other restaurants it's hard to escape because the worker may just have a bad day or an issue with the boss and take it out on random customers.

No problem Rosa, how could you know that I am the same person :) ?? That's why I told you :) I hardly write on that forum anymore, but maybe I'll start back.

You are right, we have to stay motivated because weight loss is a daily pursuit.
I'm not really on any type of weight loss program right now, it's the summer, my son is out of school. I'm just enjoying the freedom of doing what I want without the stress of making sure that homework is done, dinner is cooked at a certain time, have to get up early for school, can't eat
breakfast in the morning, have to rush out.

Yes, those videos are totally gross, and I personally know some people who are gross like that, so like I said, I don't trust people when
it comes to my food. I like to eat, and like I said, I will eat out every now and then, but nowhere near as much as I used to. I used to
eat out all the time. Now, NO.

Sometimes even if you are extra nice to a waiter or server, they could just be a jerk and still do something nasty to the food. I don't like having
to kiss someone's a*s just to make sure my food comes out okay. And even if they don't do anything to the food, maybe their hands are just not
clean, or they went to the bathroom and forgot to wash their hands:wideeye::yuck::yuck::yuck::yuck:. There's an episode of "Seinfeld" that shows a chef doing
    something like that.

I've worked in offices with young ladies who do that. Go with them into the bathroom, you see them go into a stall, but come out and
pass right by the sink like it doesn't even exist!!

So Trellum, what was your favorite pizza from Pizza Inn like? If you miss it so much, I'm thinking it was really great.

We can get a nice Hawaiian pizza from Pizza Hut here but it's just normal. It has nothing different on it but I still enjoy it because it has that fresh flavor with the veges and pineapple that I like.

I've tried different pizzas everywhere, but this place had the best pizzas ever, I liked the fact they were thin and the cheese was just perfect. Everything about that pizza was superb! I went to check if the place was already open yesterday, but it wasn't :( Maybe the week after this one it will finally be :)
