Are you impress with new and innovative parts added to cars each year? Honestly, I could do without them. There are many gadgets seen at the present and even more demonstrated at car events. But everything is so expensive for commercial gain and I understand this concept. Business have to make money and beat their competitors. What are your thoughts?

I love toys. When it comes to using them. The more gadgets the better. When it comes to repairs, the opposite is true. I just bought a Jeep and other then satilille and dash display (avg fuel mileage, miles/kms to empty, compass and temp) it is really basic. So I guess I can do without. But if I had the choice I would have had the nav deck, power windows/locks, a/c and heated seats. So I love them.

I know they are putting a lot of new safety features in the new cars. Its not all to make money. The purpose of all the cars is to make money. But I do find that they over charge for a lot of items. But you get the benefit of having it installed from the factory.

They are putting in lots of safety features to it and it is not about making money always. They want to hog the limelight and attract more customers. This has been the strategy for years now.Every one wants to make money, but these guys want to attract a customer chain and make money.
It is human perception to get attracted to a car with more features, not considering the cost for those..

That is just good business. You want people talking about your product. You want your product others are measured against. Some of the safety features are mandatory. Some are to keep up with the other guys and or surpass them. If you don't do it, you get left behind. But there are base models available for the people that don't want all of the bell and whistles.

I do agree. I was expanding on it. I also think I read part of your wrong last night but we both are saying the same thing.

Your not offending me at all. It is perfectly fine to ask that question.

Your welcome. I wouldn't get to worried about it. Sometimes it is hard to know the tone of someones message unless they are using similes. Even that can throw things off at times (on one forum I was on, the standard greeting was a welcome and a smilie giving a double one finger salute with a smile. It was used in a friendly way. People would use it to welcome someone and say (standard greeting) beside it to let them know. If someone gets upset its best just to explain what you meant by it. Or if your on the other end, just ask like you did. Once members get to know each other more they can start to get a sense of the tone of the message over time.
