Has anyone ever thought about buying a dash cam for their vehicles? I love the idea of a dash cam but really don't want to spend a couple of hundred pounds on a good one.

I've seen some on Ebay for around £20 - £50 but they are just BIG and i'm looking for a smaller version.

Yeh some dash cams are fantastic and when watching them back you can see your journey on a map as well as watching the video of your journey. They are brilliant and a great help if involved in an accident.

I haven't thought about it yet, but I think buying those hidden cams in ebay can suffice?

I think about it a lot in my work truck. I want one to show how much I get cut off in a day. And the near misses I see with cars in front of me. The other day a van almost took out a car and a truck while trying to make a pass without checking blind spots.

reply: We don't have pounds here we use dollars. I would also check www.amazon.com for deals on a dash cam as well. They have gone down in price since they first came out.

It sounds good, I think it would be quite fun to watch it back too. I think they would be particularly good for use in areas where there is a high risk for accidents.

I would love to have a dash cam! I think it would be a great way of documenting road trips, especially in a timelapse format. I love watching other people's videos. It would be nice to make some of my own one day.

Thanks for the welcome James. I'll definitely get one because as most say it's fun to watch back but also serves purpose in the event of a car accident. However I just one one small enough to not be really that visible. I was also looking at the rear mirror cams so it is permanently running.

I think that having a dash cam sounds like a great idea. I would use the cam to record accidents and trips that I would like to take. Thank you for mentioning this, I will have to go out and buy one.

A dash cam in any vehicle would be a great idea. I would really like to have one because of all the crazy things I see happening on the road. I have seen drivers that were responsible for an accident deny responsibility all because there was no available proof, so a dash cam would really be a good idea.

I've considered buying a dash cam. I just need to do the research to find out which one to purchase. It will be nice to document everything that happens while I'm driving.

I had one of these in my car for quite a while now and they are very useful! The amount of times I have caught idiots om the road on camera now is just mad.

Though the one problem with cheap ones is they eventually break... I leave mine on all the time and the last one I had has motion detection. The issue was where I had it on all the time the battery dies and takes out the rest with it. My first one the battery expanded and burst and the second the battery just refuses to charge now and the screen is just white all the time.

I remember reading about a dash cam app for smartphones that allows you to use your phone as a dash cam, provided you have a way of setting it up in a way that the camera faces the road. Supposedly it sends the video straight to your computer. I'll have to see if I can find it again.

Russian dash cam videos are my favorite, so I'd like to contribute my dash cams to the internet. I probably won't come across anything nearly as crazy as the things that you see in Russian dash cam videos, but then again it's Florida. We've got some crazy people here.

Not really. You see, there aren't many scammers in my country. Nobody wants to risk a trial here and nobody wants to pay for a dash cam either.

Thats quite a smart idea to be honest, do you know what the name of the app is? I would actually install and uae that app myself.

I'm not sure which one it is. I looked it up and apparently there are a lot of dash cam apps. I saw it on Reddit a while back, so I don't remember exactly which app it was.

I have actually been looking into some dash cams lately. I just like the added protection it gives me if I happen to get into an accident or something like that. I found nice one on amazon for $75. It records the front and back of your car, while saving everything onto a mini SD card of your choice.

I would like to have one as well but as you said, they are pretty expensive. Anyways, I will try to buy one in the future!
