Yeah driving school helps, I remember when I first started driving I was afraid of driving on the highway and doing left turns. The more you drive the better you will get, practice makes perfect as they say.

50 hours? I'm interested in seeing where you live. Here in Virginia, it's only 45 hours, however, you have to do an x amount of hours at night. Since you've only gotten your permit, it's not likely, but I like to ask this question anyways. Have you driven by yourself yet? If so, do you prefer it over driving with another person in the car?

I learned to drive when I was 16 years old, but I didn't really drive too much after I learned. I learned to drive in school via driver's ed, but my parents would not let me drive their car. When I was about 18, a couple of my friends had cars. They let me drive their cars, that's when I really started driving "for real", not just in driver's ed.

My dad started teaching me how to drive at 15. I got my learner's permit at 15 and took the test for my license at 16. Now I have been driving for about 11 years, where did all the time go? It seems like it was just yesterday! I learned how to drive on a manual transmission.

I was either 15 or 16 when I first started driving, but not regularly, only here and there with my dad's car. I got my license when I was 17, along with my first car: a monster of a Tercel, 1996. 3 speed automatic with around 90 horsepower. I could barely do 85km on the highway without the car sounding and feeling like it was going to fall apart.

I started driving at 17 or 18, I started having lessons, my dad wanted to help, but he is not very gifted for that. The first time my dad tried to help I sat behind the wheel and after 5 minutes he was already screaming, so I left the learning for the school, it was for the best...

About thirteen. My old man had got himself extremely drunk one time we went camping and as was his nature he always got short-tempered. So when he couldn't fit the key into the ignition switch he made me get into the driver's seat. He barked directions at me: turn the key, depress the clutch, etc. Suffice it to be said that we got home with a badly dented car.

My mom took the initiative and taught me how to drive and soon after I become a very good driver.

I started learning slowly in open parking lots when I was 15, but then when I turned 16 I learned with my rents. The US age for driving is 16, however I truly believe 18 should be the driving age now that I am older and see the big picture clearer.

I started learning how to drive when I was 16. I really wanted to get my G2 as soon as possible.

Where I live we have a graduated licensing system, first you test to get your learners then you test to get your novice and then you can test to get your full licence. I got my learners license when I was 17 and I let it expire and I didn't drive again until I was 24  and I only got it then because my job required I have it. I've been driving for almost 5 years now and I'm glad I didn't drive much in my teens, I really think I probably would have just been a really bad driver, and now that I'm an adult I think I'm more focused and level headed and thankfully not a total menace behind the wheel :p

I was twelve when I started driving. In our country we get License only by the age of 18, so I was six years short. My father taught me and I enjoyed it. However, once while reversing, I missed noticing the front end of the car going towards a partially open manhole. The front driver side of the tire went in and I was stuck, until my neighbors came to the rescue. It was quite an embarrassment and I never touched the car for a long time after that.

I again started driving after I touched twenty and still do. So, that's about a brief history of my driving and driving skills.:)

I started learning to drive when I was 13 years old. I learnt on a stick shift Lada. It was tiresome task for me at first, but as I matured, I got the hang of it. I think it is best to learn to drive at a young age, it helps you be more prepared and cautious on the roads.

The first time I remember driving, I was 11. My dad used to let us (my siblings and I) drive his van on the back roads. Though the first time I drove I was only going 10mph and it was freaking me out, ha ha.

Lol. Hahahaha. The first time always scares us. The first time I got behind the wheel, I was excited, till the car actually started moving. Hahahah. My brother laughed at me for a week straight.

I learned to drive on our family's property around 9-10 years old. Officially and on the road I got my permit at age 16. When we were younger we had a dirt track on our property and my dad taught all of the kids to drive at a young age. We were driving little "beaters"..mostly foreign subcompacts. We also road mini-bikes (no one had ATVs in those days) and I think it helped. Almost 40 years later, never had an accident or even a claim on my cars.

I started when I was 18, a few months ago, right before I started the driving school.

I started driving not as early as I would have wanted. I was twenty five when I started driving but that is not an issue now because I drive perfectly.
