And it is not even mine ! ! But I was sure that all of you Gearhead Central readers will love seeing this picture, so I had to try and fit it into some catagory, and this one seems the closest.
I couldn't find one that said it was for daredevils (and their frantic mothers).
My daughter,( Indiana Robin, The Explorer) is an incorrigible daredevil, who loves to hang off cliffs, and other dangerous places.
This is only supposed to happen when they are little kids, and then they fall out of a tree , and realize that they are children, and not monkeys, and learn to be more careful.
Not my daughter ! She happens to have excellent balance (which she got from her dad --- certainly not me ! )
She has always been able to walk along these tiny ledges and worry me to death that she would go crashing off of a cliff or something similar.
When we were at the Columbia River Gorge, and she was climbing down over the edge, and I couldn't see her, I hollered and asked her how I was even supposed to know if she fell off and drowned. She just laughd and called back, "Listen for the SPLASH, Mom ! "

So now, she looks for fossils, which is fine, but not on the edge of a cliff ! Here is the most recent picture she posted on Facebook. (yes, that is her truck way out there)

Oh good lord. If I had kids I'd be having a heart attack at that moment. I hope you get her to be a bit more careful! That is DANGEROUS!!

Whoa... Talk about a close call! That's pretty freaking scary. Your daughter must be pretty brave to do this. Personally, I'd never do it myself. It's just way too risky and dangerous, and I don't want to face the consequences either.

"Listen for the SPLASH, Mom ! " LOL. She is evil. I like her.

What kind of truck does she own? Does she do this for a living or does she look for fosils as a hobby?

James, this is her 2000 Ford Ranger in the picture. She likes to go adventuring on the weekends just for fun. She loves finding fossils, and has a whole rock/fossil collection in her garage, and a tumbler to polish up some of the other cool rocks she finds which are not fossils.
There is a quarry below this cliff, and apparently this is where she also is finding a lot of her fossils. Her latest project is a larger rock that she has been winching down towards her truck with hand winches; so that is why she had the little Ranger way out on the edge of the cliff. The last report was that the rock fell and rolled, and landed on top of the winch, so now she has to get another winch to get the rock off of the first one.
Between her natural intrepid personality, and the training she received in the military, she just goes headlong into whatever venture strikes her fancy.

For many years, I had one of the little magnetic dash stickers that said " Wherever I go , Mom; I know you are always there behind me quietly tearing your hair out."
    It was too true....

Here is a picture of the rock that she is working on. It apparently has all kinds of fossils on it, and she just had to have it (why couldn't she have just liked shoes, or something simple ? ); so she bought the cart to haul it on, and the winches to drag it out with because it is way too heavy for her little 5' self to pull.
Somewhere near the edge of the cliff, the whole thing unbalanced and the rock went tumbling off of the cart, landing on top of the winch (naturally). So now, she has to try and get it back away from the cliff, and then onto the cart again.
One of these days though, it will be sitting in her front yard.

Now, she is looking at a boat and motor..... image.jpg

She seems determined. It is great that she found something that she loves to do. How is she planing on getting that into the truck?

That looks like a very nice off road spot. I use to do a lot of off roading when I first got my truck a couple of years ago, but I have stopped since then just because I would always end up breaking something on my truck. I almost feel into a small lake while driving up a narrow bumpy hill one time, man was I scared.
