When did you buy your first car and how much did it cost? Was it cheap? Expensive?

My first car was a 1984 Oldsmobile Toronado. $1800. It was beautiful! I bought it because I had no transportation at the time other than the city bus. I had a job and it was hassle catching the bus.
I was looking for anything in my price range. The car was just sitting under a car port in my apartment complex for the longest time with a "for sale " sign.
I told everyone for about two months that I wanted that car. I still remember the guy signing over the pink slip!

1800 dollars? Awesome! I got my first car when i was 17 and it was about 2500 dollars. I think that taking public transportation long enough will make you long for a car.

Definitely. It keeps you home for much of the time unless one of your friends can give you a ride. (all mine also took the bus). Car=Freedom. Wait! Scratch that. Car+Gas=Freedom.

My parents bought my first car when I got my license. It was 87 Honda Accord. We saw it on the side of the road in front of a house not far from where we live. My dad test drove and which I like since he is a a mechanic and realize it was a darn good car. They were asking $800 but he got for $750. It was gray inside and out and had a wreck driver door. I kept it clean and treated it like a new car, like I do all my cars. When my parents saw that I was a good driver then they bought me another car, a 2000 Honda. That 87 Honda ran so good that my father kept it and drove it for two more years before giving it away. A really great car and I will never forget it.

I bought my first car in 1992. It was a second hand but I was so excited to have it knowing that it would give me much independence. I got it quite cheap, $80,000(2300 US),because it belonged to an old friend. I got good service from it until I sold it 2 years later.

I can't remember the model and year vehicle but it was a Dodge Avenger. It was in perfect condition, paint job and all.

My first car was a 1980 Mercury Capri. My grandfather gave it to me when I was 15. And my stepfather did the body work on the car and painted it. I drove it for like 6 months and then the rear end fell out of the car lol. I miss that car I should have fixed it and kept it. It would be worth a lot of money today.

My first car was a silver 97' Honda Civic DX. It was actually a pretty great car, other than being FWD and automatic....but hey we gotta start somewhere. It did get 33 mpg however which was great , especially since gas was under a dollar/gallon and the tank was only 10 gal........ahhh the good ole' days.

I was a bit of a pushover in high school and thanks to my FFA and 4-H projects had a good bit of spare money at the time. I was obsessed with muscle cars so of course I got a cobalt blue V8 Mustang 5 speed, year '98. It was amazing and probably my favorite car to date. That Ford is even making a V4 Mustang makes me almost ashamed of my love of these cars. I wish I could find another for as little as I paid since I got it from a friend for only $2,000.

My first and only car is my 1999 Honda Accord LX. My grandparents bought it in the early 2000's, then they gave it to my uncle after driving it for a few years. My uncle gave it to me when I was 18 and I'm now 21. I didn't pay a penny for it.

The first vehicle that I have ever owned was a 1997 Ford F-150. It was a gift from my parents on my 16th birthday. I still have the same truck, but I'll admit it has seen some better days. I have had a lot of good times with family and friends in that truck. I honestly don't think I could sell it, the truck has a lot of sentimental value to me.
