So, I'm thinking of getting a Nissan 240SX and making it drift-able.

Is this a smart choice for a car to buy for drifting? I've heard things about Honda Civics, Nissan 180SXs, and other cars, but really like the 240SX.

    What are your guys' opinions?

(Note: I live in the USA, so I sadly can not get cars such as the Silvia)

    Thanks!

I don't follow drifting all that much but I did watch a clip the other day about how they are all switching to V8's in the US. They say it is easier to do with the all the torque. They said the V8 is pretty much needed in Formula D because it gives them more control to run close together.

One guy that was talking said he had a RX7 that he ran for years and now he is on a team running a Mustang. He said he loves the Mustang and its great for drifting.

Another guy had a Nissan I think that had a fully built engine. He said he had about 430 hp in it and figured he got all he could out of it. He decided to switch to a V8 in that same car and stock it was running the same hp as his old engine that was fully built.

Is it something you want to go pro in or just have some fun smoking some tires?

I do not keep up with drift cars. They aren't something I've been incredibly interested in for some reason. However... they look nice under the hood.

I like the skill it takes but it doesn't excite me as a sport for some reason. I think big smoky burn outs became less exciting for me around the time I started paying for tires. :roflmao:

Yes Nissan 240 sx are very good drift cars of all the drift cars i have seen there is always a 240sx, but i agree with Flexin i have also seen a lot of v8 transplants into a few drift cars and the 240sx is always one of them.
