Europe. You can hit so many countries it's not funny. That would be something if you want to see a lot of different areas.

Australia would be pretty cool as well.

Gosh, I would love to go to Australia! My son went for 2 weeks. I love looking at his pictures!
Europe too. Just to drive. See all the sites. Different countries. That's something I wish I had done before I had kids. I could never afford to bring my family to Europe.

I have made a few cross country trips from Irvine California to Knoxville TN and have taken a different route in many cases. I thoroughly enjoyed the trips, taking in the touristy stuff while traveling and making sure that I find the most out of the way, hole in the wall exits to stay at. There was one that only had a convenience store, a post office, a coin op laundry and a Howard Johnson. Everything closed at 7. We loved it. Just take your time, and enjoy the trip, not the destination.

I agree that there are great road trips in the US as well. I have gone from California to Michigan and back again and you may know from my other threads that I think the road less travelled can lead you to the greatest adventures.

I agree, Europe is the best and safest destination in the world. Maybe also some parts of the USA and Canada deserve a long road trip and Central Africa is a beautiful place but danger is everywhere. Ohh... Japan is also a great destination.
