I've met a lot people who say they're more a cat person than a dog person, and others who claim to be a cat person only. Where would you fit in those groups?

I personally love cats, but I also like dogs. So I'd not define myself as a cat or dog person only, but I must admit I feel a preference for cats! Mostly because they're really independent and can take care of themselves if something bad happens to you. I also like the fact they're way more clean than dogs and MUCH easier to potty train! Cats know exactly where they must do their business as soon as you show them the litter box!! How neat is that!

By the way, I own one cat and two dogs :D

What about you guys, do you prefer dogs or cats? or both?

I'm not fond of dogs, eventhough we have 1 as a pet. We have a cat right now too, and I always pet him when I see him, although the petting has a limit, because he gets irritated when over-petted.

Then you are neither a cat or nor a dog person? I'm not a super huuuuuuuuuge fan of dogs, but they can be such a great companions sometimes :)

I'm more of a cat person. Cats are such calm and quiet creatures, they don't run around and make a mess around the house (I'm not saying that all dogs do that, but it's more common for dogs to make a mess out of everything than for cats to do that). I guess we have a pretty similar character.

I am not fond of pets like dogs and cats but I like to watch them in TVs, youtube and movies. In such a perspective, I think I love dogs more.

    Hi Trellum,

I don't have any pets but would like to take the topic of dogs and cats to bears and lions (since they are the same family), so from that perspective I like the majestic lions. Now, coming closer to home, I like dogs. I have seen my grandfather's dogs during childhood days and quite like them.

Maybe someday will have dogs as pet.

I prefer dogs over cats these days. Especially a good guard dog to protect the family and property. There has been a large spike in home invasions lately and that's not a common crime where I live.

Oh I'm actually a cat lover ever since I was a kid. I even tried to adopt a kitten last month, but after I came back 4 hours later to get him, he was dead already, he must've been hit by a car because he was resting underneath a parked car.

I've been a cat lover since I was young too :) And... I'm so sorry to hear the kitten you tried to rescue died before you could! I feel so sorry! I'm sure that kitten would have had such an amazing life with you. But... what about the other cat you already have? It sounds a bit... angry!

Lol, he is a moody cat, you can pet him, he rubs my face with his face, I can lie my face on his stomach while he's sleeping, but when he meows while you're touching him then that's your warning that he has had enough petting. Or when his eyes look irritated. He seems to get along with kittens though, because when we had 2 other cats, he doesn't seem to mind their presence. He was rivals with the 2 adult cats though.

Yeah, I was very hurt and I even cried for that kitten, he was meowing loudly when I saw him the 1st time but I was going to the mall, so I figured I'd get him on my way home since he was just 30 steps or so away from our house. I walked home, I couldn't find him, so 3 hours later, I came back, he was lying on the street, no signs of injury except for a little blood inside 1 ear, and he was still soft! I was very sad. If only I came 30 mins. earlier then he would still be alive. I took his lifeless body home and we buried him in our backyard.

I used to like cats until I decided to adopt a stray cat and found that cats are really selfish, unpredictable and not really the way I used to see them, so I don't longer like cats, but I hate cordially all dogs.

I can't stand them, particularly if they are the kind of all-day-long barking.

That was really touching to read, you did such a nice thing for him by taking him home and burying him. You must really love cats :) Don't worry, I think it's quite normal to feel the way you feel. Is very normal to wonder: ''what if I had got there earlier?'', ''could this be avoided?'', etc. I have made myself that question... different situations or matters, but still very present in my mind. I guess the best we can do is let that go, but never forget... so the same thing doesn't happen again :cat:

In terms of companionship, I much prefer dogs over cats. I don't like being on guard so much when playing with my cats - the littlest thing rubs them the wrong way and it's claws out. While cats are easier to take care of in general, dogs seem to be much more affectionate and easy going. My biggest concern is I currently live alone and I couldn't bring myself to leave a dog or dogs at home in an apartment all day by themselves while I was at work. That is no life for a dog, they need to be around others and go for walks regularly. Cats would certainly be more practical, plus they don't mind going off and doing things on their own as much, but they are not as fun to cuddle up with. In fact neither of our cats like to cuddle at all.

@ Trellum, yeah I was quite sad, I think that's the same feeling people feel when their loved one dies suddenly, like you didn't expect such a strong person or animal being dead moments later. I even took several pics of that kitten even if he was dead already as remembrance. (but unfortunately, it was saved in my phone memory, and my phone now won't turn on, so I hope I can recover them when it gets fixed). And yeah, I think that that situation makes us not want to procrastinate anymore, since we may lose what's important to us.

I can imagine! I remember when my kitten was killed by my mom's dog... I was so sad, even now as an adult feel sad when something dies! I think we, as picis, are super emotional :) You might not show it much, but I think you can be quite emotional sometimes. I'm like that too, but sometimes I exaggerate way too much, hehehe! I hope you phone gets fixed soon and you can recover those pics

I'm definitely a dog person. My dogs just seem to showcase their happiness to see me better than a cat would and I love them. They are people pleasers more than I think a cat would be. I'm sure cats can be great too but I prefer dogs.

@ Trellum, yeah I'm quite emotional too being a Pisces, I'm sure when you're unguarded you just let the "emotions" flow, right? Other signs seem to not understand our sappyness, usually air signs. Yeah I can just imagine the pain that kitty felt being bitten and all, and now the dog is also dead, they must've seen each other in the afterlife!, lol.

Hehehe, yeah, pisces folks are very unique :) I'm actually glad I ended up with a earth sign :p Hehehe earth + water are a really nice mix in my opinion ;) I don't think I'd like to have a piscis, scorpio or cancer boyfriend. My boyfriend seems to understand how emotional I get sometimes, after all he's very sappy sometimes too  I let my emotions flow too freely sometimes... plus the crazy hormones :p I often joke about me being an ''estrogen fueled beast'', LOL :hilarious:

Lol, Pisceans are not the type to initiate "sexy time", but maybe you are different? Hehe. I would actually prefer a Pisces for a bf, but not Cancer (too manipulative, brooding, and vengeful) or Scorpio. (too controlling, vindictive and violent, likes to throw things at you too). At least Pisceans are generous and caring. Earth signs are only my 2nd choice.

Oh lol, when I said beast, I wasn't talking about a sexual thing, I was referring to my crazy mood swings, lol. I get those when my period is getting closer  Sometimes I cry so easily too, hehe! I blame all that on the hormones, specially estrogen :whistling: Have you ever had a piscis boyfriend?? I had a cancer one, he was indeed manipulative!

Oh if you're familiar with Ace Hood's song "Body 2 Body" featuring Chris Brown, the word "beast" was in the lyrics, so now I associate that word sexually. :D Oh I get emotional too when I'm about to have my period, but not all the time.

I haven't had a Pisces bf yet but an admirer way back in school. I wasn't into astrology yet that time, but looking back, he did the usual Pisces style of taking things slow and befriending you casually like a friend. Then based on your actions if you're receptive, then that's the time he will move things in a more romantic way. I never liked him at all, so he didn't proceed to let me know how he feels, haha. He told me I also never called him. :roflmao: Pisceans are adept at sensing body language haven't you noticed?

Oh I have a Cancer for a brother so I totally avoid that sign! I now have a Cancer friend and I'm quite cautious towards him! They're sly, sensitive and the worst enemies ever! They'll plot revenge and won't stop retaliating until the end of the world!
