I have been wanting a new camera for a while now. My last couple have been Sony camera. I was hearing a lot about the new Nikon 1 cameras but wasn't what I wanted. I kinda wanted a point and shoot for nights out and a DSLR for everything else. The issue with that is the cost. After a while, the Nikon 1 started to interest me. I decided to try it. I can always get a DSLR down the road if needed but for now I feel that the size of the Nikon 1 will have me using it a lot more.

So I ended up with the Nikon 1 J2. The J3 is out but because of the deal I received on the J2, it would be almost double the price for the J3. I just don't think that the added cost is worth it. The savings could go toward an extra lens if I like.

So far I'm happy with the camera. I just need to learn to use more of the features and learning how to take better shots.

Haven't had a chance yet to take any shots of cars. I will try to get some of them at some point.

Awesome, James. I'd also like a point and shoot one, but not sure yet what the best choice is (for me). By the way, your shots are awesome, specially the second one  Very clear pictures  That's exactly what I want in a camera, plus other things. I love macros of things... specially flowers; I love looking at them, but I need a better camera to get really clean ones.
