Open Top Event (Monthly)

This is a new minor contest for members. (Minor contests are played for a banner and virtual form money which members will be able to use down the road.) If the participation level gets high enough in this monthly contest I might start adding prizes to it.

What do you have to do?

• Post an event in the events section. (http://gearheadcentral.com/index.php?events/upcoming) and get the most views. Those views will come from search engine traffic. If you go to the event yourself, take pictures and post some of them there and info about how the event was. People can still find old events.
• The event you post will be competing for the month of the event. So if you post an event for April, that is the month that it will count. But it can get views from day 1 so the earlier you post it the more views you can build up. If you can find an event for October 2013 (the first month of the contest) it will be in for the first banner.

Why enter this monthly contest?

• You can strut your stuff with a Top Event banner for the month.
• The events bring in traffic which can turn into new members. That is a big help to the forum.
• This is a monthly contests but at any point I can throw up a quarterly or yearly winner which means your event can win for your multiple times.

How is the winner picked?

• By clicking here and clicking on views, we will see the threads with the most views. Then we will find the top thread for the previous month based on views.

Prize

• Top Event banner under your name. Just like my Founding Members one but with a different color (you can pick your color)
• $250 virtual Gearhead Central money.
• You will be added to the Monthly Winners user group. This group will have special contests that are just for them.

I will be posting events myself as well. I try not to go too crazy because I want to leave something open for other people but there are lots of events around the world. I don't compete for the banner but if there is no other events posted for that month then I will be the proud owner of it for the month (if I have one posted for that month).

I just posted two events. It doesn't take that long. Once you find an event online you can copy and paste some key info and put in the website so they can find more info. Also put in the address and so on. Don't forget to click the last box on the page to put the thread in the events section. It needs a thread to get the views counted.

Its easy to find events. Search for things like Car shows 2013, Car shows 2014, Car swap meet and so on and you will find events to post. If a event is posted twice I will keep the first one that was posted. Its easy to do, helps the site and can win you prizes.

The first winner of the Top Event contest is me. I posted 5 events. The winning one was Jeep Creep http://gearheadcentral.com/index.php?threads/oct-25-2013-jeep-creep-gladwin-michigan.4851/ which had 36 views.

Get your events in for the coming months. The sooner you post it, the more views you will be able to get and the more traffic you bring to the site. Win/Win.

This is an easy contest to win. You enter a little into in the event calender and your done. If you share it with the Share this page buttons at the bottom of the thread you can help get more views. But the search engines will bring some in as well. The more events you post the more chances you have to win.

Winning gets you virtual forum cash, the Top Event banner that I have under my name (you have to beat me to get it), and you will have a chance at a contest that is only for minor contest winners. There is this one, the Top Thread and The Top Contributor (which has three winners each month) contests. So that is 5 winners each month that can get into that monthly winners group. Because we have a lot of repeat winners, this is a small group so your chances at winning a prize are higher then our other contests.

The more participation in contests like these, the better the prize will get.
