Today I went fathers day shopping with my wife and kids. They bought me some Virbram fivefingers so I went for a run.

Here is the trail I ran on.

    You took a nap yesterday?

After the breakfast this morning I went home and put my fivefingers on. I'm going to get Jamie into them.

Today was my first day back in the gym since before my vacation. Felt good to be back. Worked on chest today. Wore my Fivefingers. I'm liking these more and more.

Ease your way into those shoes. You don't want to do too much as they should be making walk and run completely different from what you are used to doing. A change in gait extends up the entire body and can be quite of a shock to the body.

Thanks. I'm not going to go too crazy. I have been walking around with them as much as possible but haven't went for another run yet. I'm letting my feet rest a bit. Everyone says it can take three weeks or so to get use to them.

Its different. Your running style will and has to change because of the lack of big soft sole to protect for feet. I like it. I bought them to wear in the gym but I find I wear them any chance I get.

Anything you can do to be active is good. Walking is pretty easy for most people. Swimming is great exercise.

That looks like a great hill for both sprints when the weather is good, but also for King of the Hill when it's snowing! I don't know if it snows much where you are.

Do you ever run or jog when you're in the pool? That is also a good workout for people in a pool. I wish I had done a lot of that when I used to have access to a pool. I can't swim, so all I ever did was sit by it.

It is a great hill for running and we do get snow. There are a lot of people that slid on it but my brother in law almost died sliding down the other side of the Hill. He had a long recovery but impressed the doctors with what he has done.

Goodness! Did he run into something? Or did he slide onto the sidewalk or into the street? I guess it doesn't flatten out enough for safe sledding. At least the side of the hill in that picture doesn't. I'm glad he's okay.

He was on the other side of the hill. There is stone wall on the other side. He hit that. James
