I was browsing ebay recently and came across this....

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/161035543420?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

It's a signed NFL football card of Reggie White. Who played for the Eagles and Packers. I am not too sure about these sorts of things value wise when it comes to memorabilia, but it certainly looks authentic. My question is...if I purchase it for the $70 price, think I could resell it for 2 times as much elsewhere?

It is possible if a lot of people will bid on it if you want to auction it. You can also hang out in sports forums and see if they have a buy and sell section over there.

I think it is possible to sell this on for more, but I would look to see what other similar signed cards like this are going for before making a decision.

I checked ebay and signed Reggie White items are going for as much as $1,000 plus. Only saw one card, and it is going for $24.99 in a bid. But e-bayers don't really bid on items anymore so I am not sure of that particular cards value in a flat price scenario. But his signed stuff is up for high sale prices. I probably won't buy it now though because it's a novelty item and I have more important things to do with my money at this time. I was trying to just gauge how much it could possibly be worth at resale is all. When I see stuff like this, I always think what if it is that one item that could set me for at least 5 years financially.

Beckett is a great place to look for card values. There are two bent corners on it and it looks like a stain at the top. Those would lower the value. I'm not sure if you could double your investment on that card.

Anyway, ensure the real value of the card you are going to buy. Ask a card expert.

I hovered over the photos and I see the slightly bent corners but there's no stain. Some trading cards have that plastic like covering or film that protects the paper part? That seems to be eroding a bit, hence it shows as a stain. I'd imagine the card is in decent condition for something the seller has had for 8 years. But yes that would hurt the value. I guess that's why it's only listed for $70 instead of maybe $700.

I can't see the brand of the card. So I think it is just some generic card. It might have been a gift he was offering at a signing or something. The more common the card is the lower the value. I don't see that being a $700 card in mint shape. I know he had it 8 years but there are cards out there that are 4 times that age that are perfect. For half the price it might be worth the risk if you are trying to make a profit on it.

The listing says it's a ROOX card. I guess that's the brand?

I checked the listing again, and it's only $49 now. How about you wait until the last 12 hours before deciding whether you should buy it or not? The seller might still lower the price you know?
