I would say that careless drivers are found almost in every corner of the world, there those who drive yet they don't know the rules of the road, others do driver while they are intoxicated hence the tend to drive dangerously but on other occasions, they are the best drivers. So there is no place on earth where you wouldn't find a careless driver and that is the reason why they always tell you in driving school that while you are on the road, assume that all the other drivers are insane and you are the only sane driver on the road.

I live in the city and there are a lot careless drivers here, and most of the drivers here do not follow any of the rules while driving on the road. I almost got into a couple of accidents on the freeway because a person tried to cut me off.

I've had most of my problems in parking lots. Like idiots that almost back out into me, even when I'm holding my horn in for ten seconds and I completely have the right of way. Or, even better, pedestrians that walk in front of you in the middle of the parking lot where you're supposed to drive, so you have to go 2 MPH the whole time.

Ooh, those... especially the ones who aren't aware that the crosswalk is perpendicular to the roadway, and you're supposed to walk at a 90 degree angle to the road to cross it. The ones who walk the longest possible diagonal path and take their sweet time doing it. I sometimes wonder if they're doing it on purpose. Pedestrian trolls.

I guess they're not aware of it, at least most people are. Because it would be too weird if they're really doing it on purpose. They won't gain anything from it.

Ha, you can say that. I was driving my fathers truck the other day & nearly got slammed, heading up to Walmart, we've got a merging lane from people getting off the freeway so the speed limit is 55, went to get over & the guy behind me decided to get over as well, instead, he decided to get over & gun it, he threw it up to about 70 & nearly took me out, this wasn't even a week ago.

You have ask the right question. There are so many reckless drivers in my state which in Las Vegas. There are so many drunk drivers here and there is a deadly crash almost everyday on the News. There are so many people who drink and drive here so we have a lot of check point here. Careless drivers are so abundant here in Vegas. Be careful when you come here on a holiday. They're all drunk. There are a lot of strippers who drive drunk and kill other people. On the news the other day, a stripper in Vegas was driving while drunk and on drug who slammed into a car and kill the driver. She's now in jail. There was a driver how sped above 100 mph and crash into a bus stop killing at least 8 people who were waiting for their rides. Yes, Vegas drivers are reckless.

Sounds like a serious problem there. I don't know why the do things like that. There are lots of dancers that brag about how much money they make and they can't pay for a cab home? If she was working I think the owners should be looking out for the staff and making sure they are not driving if they have been drinking. The are responsible for the customers, it should apply to the staff as well.

There are several kinds of careless drivers. I think old people are the ones that amaze me the most, some are no longer in condition to be driving, they don't have a clue about what they are doing on the road, it's a real danger to themselves and others, but there they go. But careless drivers exist of any kind, one should be conscious enough to know, am I in conditions to drive or not?

There is good and bad everything, so, bad drivers are out there. Certain people act like they just don't care. I was parked in a parking lot, sitting in my car talking to my son, some lady parks next to us, opens her door to get out, hits my car with her door, and runs into the grocery store. No apology, no nothing. I started to go after her, but I thought about it and decided against it.

Some other lady hit me, actually slammed into the back of my car, and sped off. I got out and checked the back of my car. No damage thank goodness. I would've been p*ssed, only I was too shocked to be mad.
    People are something else.

True, there are all kinds. I have many old people stories. The other day I wanted to park my car, this old woman right in front of my car parked occupying two spots, leaving none available. I stepped out of my car, asked her to move, she looked at me with contempt and continued. Surreal!!!!

Lol! :roflmao: I know you were probably super-p*ssed off about this, but it still made me laugh when I read it:joyful:. I have noticed a couple of elderly people recently who probably should not still be behind a wheel (I hate to be like that, because I adore elderly people, they are one of my passions, truly).

For example, a few weeks ago, I saw an elderly woman hit a dog. I was so upset, because the dog was in the street, right by my car, close to where I had pulled up at a stop sign. Beautiful, curly haired white dog, like a poodle or something. My son told me to honk my horn to make the dog get out of the street, but I didn't want to scare the dog (I love animals:inlove:), so I didn't honk my horn. I saw an elderly lady driving up, but I thought she was going to stop for the dog, or blow her horn. Nope. She hit the dog. Killed the dog. I was so distraught. So upset. I felt sooo guilty, like if I had only honked my horn...:(:(:(:(:(:banghead::banghead:

When she got out of the car talking to the dog's owner, the elderly lady said, "The dog ran right out in front of me." That made me mad because I knew she wasn't telling the truth. Truth is, the dog was standing there the whole time, and had been there before she drove up, she just didn't see the dog. She probably should not be driving.

I saw another elderly lady run right by a stop sign. I was the only one on the road with her, and I was so thankful that I was not in her way when she did that. I was thinking to myself, she didn't even try to stop.

I was really speechless when she ignored me, anger came through my body, but I just stood still, I think it was for the best!!!

:( That is a sad story, unusual that the dog didn't move, animals use to be pretty fast moving away from the cars. My father in-law is 78 and his driving his worrying, especially at the traffic circles is amazing what he does there...

You will most times find careless drivers. Sometimes they actually are so impatient that they refuse to wait for another vehicle to pass them. If you see how they act on a pedestrian cross, it is so foolish.

Most of the careless drivers seem to be teens or something along the line of 18-20. They should really start caring about how they are driving, because it affects all of the people on the road, its extremely inconsiderate.

Young people have less experience driving, so I guess it is normal they drive worse, they need the time to improve. Hopefully they drive safely while they mature and don't cause accidents...

I can imagine that you were speechless:wideeye:. Especially when you try to politely reason with someone and they look at you like you are the one with issues, not them. Yes, I agree, I think it was best that you stood still. Anger is a form of insanity and it is best not to go there.

Yes, it is a sad story about that little white dog:(. I love animals, I have a special fondness for dogs, so seeing that really bothered me.

The dog didn't move because it was fully engaged in eating whatever it was that it had found in the middle of the street. I told myself that perhaps the dog wasn't being taken care of all that well, because it was out in front of its own house, eating in the street. It must have been really hungry, or perhaps whatever it was eating was very tasty.

There was a man a few houses down who was standing outside when all this happened, and he came and went to the dog owners' house to let them know.

The thing that really irritated me was when the owner came out (and several other people from the household who just stood on the porch), the dog was in the street still breathing, but blood everywhere. I went over to the dog, while the owner went about the business of hugging and comforting the elderly lady who had just hit the dog:eek:o_O. Ugh, I don't know. I know the elderly lady felt bad, but at the same time her standing there telling the owner, "It just ran out in front of me," really irritated the hell outta me.

I agree that many teens are careless when driving, but it seems to me to be the teens that are trying to be cool. Trying to act like they are "all that." I know some teens who act much more mature than some adults who in their 30's, those particular teens aren't trying to "highside," they are not trying to show off, or act like they know more about driving than they actually do.

My baby brother got killed by a driver who was driving around thinking that he was the best thing since sliced bread, driving like an idiot. He not only killed my brother, who was only 21 years old, but he killed two of my young cousins too.

I agree that people usually drive much better when they mature and realize that driving is a privilege and a huge responsibility. I think teens who look at driving for the serious thing that it is can do pretty well, even if they are lacking in experience. If they try their best to obey the rules of the road, and don't take driving as a joke, then they can fare pretty well for the most part.

The owner didn't care about its own dog? Really? The old woman should be petrified as well I guess...

Here in Virginia, I can't agree with that. I myself am an excellent driver, I can't say that about all the individuals around my age line however I can say that I see more careless drivers between 30-50 than I do drivers between 16-26
