I'd much rather the device at 6:49. It almost made my Jaw drop when I saw it.

The whole keeping tabs on you thing seems to be a matter of "If you don't like it, you can stay stuck in the stone age". There is hardly any alternative options out there if you don't want them to be able to keep tabs on you, and I agree with you, it's really frustrating

Well the colored phones of the early 2000's can be handy if you want to downgrade so that you won't be tracked, we don't really need GPS and other fancy features to get through the day anyway.

HTC Evo. It's really the best phone I've ever owner. Better than the iPhone, even. Okay, maybe not better...they're about the same. Great phone. I've had it almost 2 years now. No issues with it whatsoever. Not even after dropping it in water...twice lol.

You dropped it in water twice and it did not require any fixing by a technician? Now I'm curious to try an HTC phone just to see if it's that durable. I dropped my Sony Ericsson once in the shower, and it was not really submerged, it just got wet a little bit, but it started malfunctioning to the point that I had to take it to the store. Good thing that it was under warranty.

I have been using an iphone for the longest. I really wanted to get an samsung galaxy s3 but decided to wait because the s4 was coming out soon. I thought about the nexus 4 because its only $300 outright and I am not a fan of contracts.

I have had the fancy brand name I-type phones before. In fact I have one now that went kaput after about six months. Granted it was a copy I-Phone but it should have lasted longer than that. My backup phone is a basic "Nokia" that I have had for several years now and have never had a problem with it yet.
    New isn't always better.;)

I use a Blackberry. I was never intended on owning a smartphone, but I guess my old Sony Ericsson was just looking too shabby and outdated, so I gave in! I have to say the keypad makes texting really easy though, and it seems really durable too.

I guess I'm a bit old fashion. I have two celphones one of which is an "IPhone" clone and a very basic Nokia. Of the two I favor the "Nokia" for its ease of operation. I rarely use the IPhone clone but keep it as the back-up. Originally it was going to be my "go to phone" but I found it easier to operate the "Nokia".:)

The keyboard is what I love about BlackBerry but I decided to try the Z10 which has no keyboard. So far. So good. It has a nice touch keyboard.

iPhone. You can get Snapchat on any iPhone. iPhones are easy to use and handle. My dad is 56 and is not a technical guy and he has an iPhone and never has any problems. You can also buy books about operating iPhones. A good one is call 'iPhone for dummies'.

Nokia made some good phones back in the day. I had two of them. I wouldn't compare them to a knock off phone. A knock off could be close to the quality of the real thing but in most cases they are not. That and not having the brand name is the reason for the lower price. Did it have a warranty? It should have been covered under that. And what is the brand name?

As far as newer not always being better. That depends on what you area you are looking at. Durability? Battery life? Features? Image quality?

Some of the old phones seem tough and they lasted for days. But today we have huge screens which eat power fast. We have more that we can do with the phones which means we are using them longer. In use the screen is on which is eating way more power then it is on stand by.

The style and design of the old phones made them tougher too. You didn't have a big screen to break. The phone was smaller so you didn't have the leverage to bend/break a phone really easy like some of the new ones.

So your right, newer isn't always better.

But...in many ways newer is better. My old Nokias would not be able to surf Gearhead Central. That is a major con. ;) All of the social apps that are out there are not available on them. Some were limited in the number of contacts you could have. Limited number of ring tones. Some had no text messages because they were not out yet. This are cons for some, pros for others.

Right now I am using Nokia X3-02. It is a cheap touch and type phone that runs on java platform. Eventhough I am comfortable with my current phone I want to try out any Android smartphone very soon.

I guess I'm a bit old fashion. I find I use my Nokia more than I use the "IPhone want to be". I usually use the clone when I travel because it has a radio and some games that keep me occupied and not bored when I make a long trip. I carry both with me then since the "Nokia" is primarily my business phone. :)

There are still many other there like you. They just want to make calls. Thats it. They don't see the point of all the extra features. Your in between that. You see the need/use in certain cases but don't need it in your daily life. Nothing wrong with that.

I only use a very basic phone as I don't generally care for them nor need all the features of the others.

I got me a HTC 4G Android phone from Boost Mobile and I love it. I only pay forty dollars a month for unlimited talk, text, and web services. I did have the Samsung Galaxy Android phone and I really enjoyed it as well. My girlfriend bought each of these phones as a gift for me ,so it didn't cost me a penny for the phone.
