What's your say, in my opinion women and men drive quite differently. Are women worse drivers than men generally speaking or is this a myth?

Since I can remember people say that women drive worst than men, but I do agree that both women and men alike can certainly do stupid things, as it's possible to find people of both sexes driving with care.

I think sometimes women are more cautious, which men may think is stupid. And men are more reckless. But that's such a generalization. Both men and women are good and bad drivers.

I think you are right to a point. Some are just unaware what is going on around them but I see that with men and woman so I can't blame that on just woman.

The other day there was a car parked on the road. Parking enforcement was behind that car. You can't be parked there after 4 pm because of traffic. I was in my cement mixer and I knew there was two cars two my right that would try to cut ahead of me rather then wait. I knew it and was right. As I was driving I was thinking that the third car better not do it. Well she did. If I wasn't planning for something stupid I could have drove into her drivers door which could have really hurt her and I could have her the parking enforcement officer and the person in that car. I pull my air horn and she gave me the finger. She cut me off and then gives me the finger. Not once, but three times. She is lucky I was paying attention and that I didn't flip out.

There is a certain truth to that notion actually, in my country at least. Women are more careless as in they don't use their turn signals when cutting, they never use the side mirrors when switching lanes, and etc. There were a few times where the car from the left side almost hit me because the lady drivers couldn't be bothered to look when switching lanes. I'm sure not all women are are like that, but it's hard not to notice when almost all the lousy drivers I see are women.

Yes yes... Women are more insecure I think. This insecurity generates extra caution or extreme aggression (many women don't know what alternated entering is) My wife is always crazy with my driving and I drive pretty safely...

Quite interesting those articles @Flexin, I loved this sentence "A study conducted by the University of Michigan has determined that women get into more accidents than men, even though they drive less." lol! :D

caparica - this isn't the early 1900's...or are you just trolling? Sounds to me like you are a very insecure young man who requires some sensitivity training.

Anyway, that is a very interesting infographic posted by Flexin. I had no idea males were responsible for so many more accidents....I knew they caused a higher percentage, but the difference is rather staggering.

Oh, and caparica - women can vote now, and get jobs outside the home.

I would say men are more distracted than women because they are too busy checking out all the other women driving.

Men are also more likely to get whiplash when there is an attractive pedestrian they drive by.

I think it really depends on the driving skills, personality and etiquette of the person in question as compared to their gender. Men and women can either be good or bad drivers depending on the factors that I posted above.

I like to think I'm a good driver, lol. But I try to be extra careful, which can be really annoying for my boyfriend! I guess most men see it this way tho. I'd never dare to say worst drivers are women, my mom has been driving for many years, and hasn't been in an accident so far.

ahah, I didn't mean to upset you rocket and I don't want to be a sexist either, I believe in equality (I don't vote btw because I don't believe in this system), but I think a fact is a fact and usually (usually!) when something is wrong on the roads either is a woman or an old person! :D

You hit the nail on the head. In my neighborhood there are two senior women who likes to go around the neighborhood around their 1940s car.

Naturally nor the car or the women are kinda of Indianapolis icons to go fast, so I have heard many things about the way they drive, mostly coming from men that can't see they are simply driving with caution.

Sure, women drive with more caution I agree, but they are more agressive too, they never allow no one to get in their front and they turn without looking like if the road it's all theirs. Most of the women, not all of course.

I think those women drive like that because of their age :p Seriously, my mom drives slower than ever now, and is super careful and cautious than she was when I was little. With age most women start behaving that way, it's natural. I mean, I'm not as reckless as when I was a teen.

Sometimes driving too slow is almost as bad as being reckless, I wonder how people from a certain age can still renew their licences...

Depends on the person. My mother in particular drives like a friggin rally car driver sometimes.
    It's quite scary.
I remember one time there was this RV in front of us (kind of a backroad) that seemed to be parallel parked in the middle of both lanes. She went into the dirt and flew past it. I was like WOAH. Older people in town can be a hazard because of the speed they drive. I've seen that kind of thing cause alot of accidents.

Yes, each person drives differently. My wife for example drives with extra care, she's really nervous in the road and she gets scared with my driving even when I drive like an old person.

Your mum should have been a pilot! :D

Women drive wayy worse than men.
I don't, but others do :p They are too slow which just makes me honk because I'm impatient like that.
Just yesterday I waited 30 seconds for a woman to take a turn. There was barely any traffic, I could have taken the turn in the first 5 seconds without thinking it through even...
I've also had multiple women drivers almost run me over at a pedestrian crosswalk.
