I have to vacuum the car again. @Lisa had to drive the car again before it was dry enough to put the floor mats in. And we have a gravel drive way (should be concrete soon) so there is more dirt on the floor. But the salt and heavy dirt is gone.

It was getting late when I was doing it so I will scrub the front drivers side again and vacuum again to get more of the dirt up. But it is a big start. I noticed that I forgot to take a picture of the floor mats but they were done as well. They were just dirty, the drivers front one was the worst with dirt and salt stains.

The winter tires are on and the summers are cleaned and put away. I would like to clean them again and wax them before putting them back on again.

    Time to get to work.

The paint held up great on the rotors. The calipers need to be done again. I need to replace the front brakes so depending on the weather I might touch them up then so they are in better shape come spring. Then I will do them again in the spring if needed which I'm sure they will.

While they were out I decided to clean the rims up a bit. It wasn't all that warm out. It was about 2C (36F) so I pulled the water hose into the garage to do it in comfort. Plus I have speakers in there so I can stream music which makes it more enjoyable.

    Let the fun begin.

Here is one of the front rims. The brake pads in the front are hard on the rims. Hopefully the next set is low dusting. I will see what I can find.

Sprayed one section with degreaser and then scrubbed with a brush.

There is a little bit of a difference. :) Still needs more work but I will get them closer to spotless before spring.

Rim is cleaned up but not perfect. I know you can't see it all when they are on the car but I will know so I want them much cleaner and then I will put a rim wax or something on them to hopefully make cleaning easier later on.

After that I decided that I wanted to wash my Jeep since it was long over do. After that I left out my gear to wash the car for the wife.

She doesn't like having the steel rims on because it doesn't look as good. So washing it made her feel better.

I'm behind in updating this thread. About a month ago I did the front brakes on the the Corolla. I noticed the front rotors looked rough so I had my wife order her parts.

Pushing the caliper piston back in. This tool was less then $10, I bought it 5+ years ago. It has been worth its weight in gold. If you are still using a caliper, stop it. It isn't worth the headache. Spend the few dollars and buy a tool like this.

New pads. I haven't tried these ones before. So far they seem pretty good.

It isn't a good idea to let a caliper hang by the brake line so I used a bungee cord to hang it off the spring. As you can see it was too long so I tied some knots in it to shorting it. The calipers are starting to rust again. In the spring when the summer tires and rims go back on I will redo them. Overall the paint held up pretty good on some of the parts.

    New rotor.

Love looking at new rotors. Just don't like paying for them. My wife got a good deal on these. I think we paid less for then we did for one on our suv or truck we had before. Don't forget to clean them off before installing them. They have an oil on them to keep them from rusting.

My lil princess wanted to help with the job.

    DSC_2114 (Medium).JPG

She loves to help. I didn't get any other pictures because my wife and daughter had to go out and I wanted to get the brakes done for them before they went out.
