Hi guys, just trying to start a conversation here :) Do you guys think you're eating healthy things everyday? How healthy are your eating habits?

I'll start by saying that I'm trying my best to keep a healthy diet and lose some weight. Will I keep doing that after I lose the extra weight I need to lose? Definetely YES!

I think eating healthy should be a priority for everyone, not just the people trying to lose weight. I know it's hard to keep eating healthy week after week, but in the end the effort pays off! Plus... who says you can't have a cheating meal every once in a while? I do that at least once a week, and so far so good :roflmao:

I do for the most part. I try to eat healthy as possible just because that is what I want to do. I don't feel I have been having too much of the things I want to limit, partly because of the new job. I need to get that under control and get back to my regular routine in the gym.

I try to have a healthy diet, but since I don't know how to cook, I have no choice but to eat whatever is available to me. I don't have a balanced diet right now, but I will try to have one.

You don't know how to cook? Been there, done that. Do you every want to learn? I'm not a great cook, but I like to cook, and can put a meal together. I love watching Martha Stewart (adore her) and Rachel Ray and certain other people who show one how to cook. I LOVE watching certain cooking shows on YouTube.

I totally used to think it was funny:p that I didn't know how to cook, my friends and I used to even make jokes about how throwing one of my baked goods at someone could injure that person. Wasn't until one of my "friends" started luring my "boyfriend" away from me with her cooking skills:eek:. All of a sudden I felt vulnerable and pissed off!

I would say that my eating habits leave a lot to be desired:whistling:. Every since I was a little girl, I have been addicted to candy:inlove:, sweets, all kinds of stuff that tastes good but that is not necessarily good for you. I also tend to be a meat and potatoes girl too:hungry:, and that's not exactly the healthiest stuff to eat.

I try though. I try to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, I try to drink a lot of water, and take vitamins, but I could definitely do better. Much better.

I think nutrition should be taught at schools, here in Portugal it's not. I can cook, but I am not amazing. I try to eat vegetables and at least two pieces of fruit per day, but I know I am far from the best. When I eat at home I eat best, but in my day-to-day I have to eat at work and it's not the healthiest food they serve there.

That's why you should never introduce your friends to your bf! Never! All it takes is 1 look, and if they get attracted, they won't consider the "friendship" at all. Anyway, I don't have that much of an interest to learn how to cook, so until now, all I know is how to fry eggs and hotdogs, lol.

Same here! I do it mostly because I want to do it, and because I need to drop some weight ;) I'll keep on eating healthy way after reaching my goal, I think that's the only way I'll keep the extra weight from coming back :roflmao: I'm also having a hard time adjusting to my new job :) I haven't worked out as often as i'd like this week, but tomorrow I'll surely find the time

Wow really? Have you ever tried to learn to cook? Is not as hard as it seems :) There are some many video on youtube that tell you what to do exactly and list all the things you need :) You just need the time and patience to learn. My boyfriend is the same, btw, he can't cook at all :D

Same here... I just LOOOVE sweet stuff!!! Yummy! Specially sweet pastries, those are my weakness! I love all sorts of candies and chocolates. You know what I like the most? PIES! All sorts of pies: pecan pies, banana pies, lemon pies, cheese pies, chocolate pies, peach pies, apple pies, lol... you name it! And that's the main reason I've some extra weight to lose right now :D I'm not even a good eater (I eat too little ever since my gallbladder was removed), but candies are my downfall, lol.

So don't feel bad :) I think most of us women enjoy to eat sweet stuff. At least you're trying to eat more veggies and fruits ;)

Yeah, eating outside home is one of the main reasons I hate the idea of not having an online job :D I've a friend who works at a place, it's just like any other office, and the lunches they have over there are not the most healthy ones. They aren't cheap at all either! Truth is that eating healthy is not easy, most people are clueless as what eating healthy truly entitles. So I really agree with you; people everywhere should be taught about nutrition at schools.

I generally do. If I don't eat well, I pay for it with undesirable bathroom breaks. Some of the food I commonly eat is eggs, almonds, fruits, rice, cereal, oatmeal, and the meals vary but are usually pretty healthy. Every once in a while I'll binge on a bag of chips or something, and then I'll just feel bad once I'm done.

I don't have a passion for cooking, but if I knew the basics I could cook healthier and tastier. We are taught so much nonsense at school and the basics for the day-to-day life are not taught...

Zambo, you feel bad for eating chips? You stomach or your conscience? :)

I'm with you on the candy and chocolates. I'm really not into pies though. I have texture issues (as my son calls them). I don't particularly like "gooey." I would say that my favorite pie is Mince pie, I grew up calling it mince-meat pie. That's my fav. It's not what I would call a sweet pie, but it is delicious.

Bottom line, I like food. Period.:roflmao: I like to cook, and eat what I cook. I think my favorite food is probably Mexican, I like Italian too. And soul food, and Chinese food. I could go on:nailbiting::nailbiting:.

Woah, it looks like you're consuming a lot carbs! It's nice you're adding some fruits to the mix, but if I were you I'd really consider to add some veggies to the mix. Eggs sound like a really good source of protein :) You must have a really beautiful and healthy looking skin and hair, specially if you eat almonds regularly :)

Too bad :( Have you even tried? Before I even tried (when I was 16 years old) I also thought I had no passion for cooking; my first attempts were such a mess! I decided to keep on trying tho, and it the end it paid of. Actually cooking is one of the very few activities that really help me to handle stress and anxiety. When I'm feeling very anxious and i start cooking, I can feel how my anxiety levels keep going down until I don't feel anxious at all anymore!

Hahahaha... You're a funny gal, I like that :cat: I LOVE to eat as well, I used to love eating even more before I got my gallbladder removed :dead: Things are not the same ever since that happened, but I'm trying to be optimistic always :)

You don't like the texture of cheese pie??? Seriously!? I'm glad you mentioned mince pie, I actually feel intrigued! I've never tried to make a pie like that, mind telling mev what kind of things you put in that pie? The only time I tried to make something like that was when I made a tuna quiche :p It was good, I used a ''light'' recipe.

I do cook, some things come out better than others, but I wish I knew more about spices and herbs, I think those can make a real difference on cooking a meal.

Ha, it's not my conscience at all, and partly my stomach. I just feel groggy. I get that crappy feeling you get after eating a bunch of junk food.

I try to eat as healthy as possible, but I do spoil myself at the end of the day. If I had salad for lunch and dinner, I wont hesitate in opening a bag of chips! Gotta enjoy the little things in life.
